At the end of May we were 26-25 Then it happened, the team opened up June by winning 7 in a row & we hit a high water mark of 8 games over 500 (33-25) & one or two here felt like "Maybe this team is better then we thought". BUT.......... Then it happened again only in reverse & we lost 5 of our next 6. The win last night was nice but lets take look at June so far (14 games & a 9-5 record) but lets take a closer look........

June 1st to June 9th (7 games = 7-0) Average = 6.1 runs, 10.1 hits, 27 XBH including 13 HRs & 287 BA outscored oppts 43-18

June 10th-June 17th (7 games = 2-5) average = 3.0 runs, 7.6 hits, 16 XBH with only 2 HRs & a 227 BA getting outscored 43-21.

This team is just not good enough to maintain any kind of consistency. Sad but true.

Bottom line as we speak - Yanks are 9-5 in June, last year they finished 12-15 in June.
At this point last year they were 3.5 games out of first place.....now, they have a chance to move into first place TONIGHT.

The sky hasn't fallen.

It's all relative.
.....to be continued.

Yanks were 41-41 on July 1, 2014 after a 12-15 June, 3.5 games behind first place.
Yanks currently 1 game out, 9-5 in June.

I choose to watch, enjoy, and wait and see instead of waiting for bad news. lol

I hear ya' Rick, this years team, seems to vacillate b/t being The Bronx Bomber, to the Bronx Bummers.......!

No consistency......

If a team lacks consistency, they most likely won't see Playoff's, (Playoffs. playoffs? Are you kidding me", Jim Mora)

If such a team does make it to PS, without consistency, it will be a short series, & quick exit.......

We all want to see the Yanx win, but let's get reasonable, which IS what I see in this Post......the Voice of Reason......!

...where the Yanx were this time last year means zilch.

I don't give a rats ass about last year, I'm talking only of THIS year & there lack of consistency.

Currently 9-5 in June, ONE game out of first place.... Lmao

Here, now, ...not next week, not next month....not 2 months from now.

Lmao......oh, bbbbbbut ....wwwwwwwhat iiiiif......uhhhhh.....bbbbbbut.......,

No need to turn into a stuttering clown, try & follow me without thinking everyone is putting an iceberg in front of the Yankees ship. 9-5 is nice but when you think how they started the month (7-0) they should have been better then 9-5 at this point of the month, reason being (in everyone's opinion but yours) is that the team lacks any kind of consistency to maintain any kind of good play over an extended period.

Hell I'd love to see this team go 9-5 over every 14 game stretch but I think we all know (well most of us) that the teams pattern this year seems to be going 9-5 & following that up with going 5-9.

This year...Yanks currently playing .640 ball in JUNE.
I don't walk around waiting for lightening to strike me, and I don't "follow" my team waiting and expecting bad things to happen.

I guess it's just a difference in philosophy.
Kinda kooky....huh? lol

Any comments? Or do you expect me to FOLLOW SUIT and try and convince people the Yanks are doomed?

sad

...lol...and?... they're also playing .538 ball for the year...and 5-5 in their last 10 games while Rays, Jays and O's are 24-6 in their last 10 games.

I don't walk around waiting for lightening to strike me, and I don't "follow" my team waiting and expecting bad things to happen.

...no one else does either...that's about the 5th time you mumbled that same lame BS...and you were wrong the other times too.

Any comments? Or do you expect me to FOLLOW SUIT and try and convince people the Yanks are doomed?

...believe what you want. But it is funny how you act if if others are trying to force their contrary views on you...but whether or not you realize it, you're conversely doing the very same thing.

being 1 game out of 1st place in the AL East, is NOT saying much, since there are 4 teams within 2 games of 1st.

4 teams, all over .500 .......

This Division, has either become very weak, or all teams (less Bahstahn); are better than their records show.........I bet the prior......

What I see in the AL East is no different than the years, decade of the NL West, where the Pennant goes to the Team that is 1 or 2 games above .500......

Why do you insist on being a MAJOR pain in the ass, NO ONE I repeat NO ONE! thinks the Yankees are doomed as you so childishly put it or wants to see the team fail nor has anyone said that they would. You have this uncanny habit of twisting things around & making shit up just to suit your argument.

I create a thread about the teams inconsistency THIS YEAR so far & you go off on one of your ridiculous tantrums about what they did & where they were last year. So they're playing 640 ball over 14 games WOW! now there's a real measuring stick for success 14 games. Where were you in MAY when they played only 448 ball? (13-16) so since May 1st they're 22-21 HOLY SHIT! lets schedule the parade now. Its amazing how you only talk shit when the Yankees are playing well but disappear when they suck.

And yet you wonder why everyone thinks.............oh the hell with it.

Aristotle tried like hell, beginning in 330 anti-domino; to make others realize the blatant truths, of the realities of Space, ie, the World was round in His eyes and mind.........

Yet, there is still a "Flat Earth" Society to this very day..........

no one expects you to believe one thing or another, you can holler the Yanx are the best Team in MLB, and scream (to anyone who won't listen), the Earth IS STILL Flat.........

When I saw this OP, 1st thought was MLB were going to switch out baseball caps, for Nun Habits.......:nun:

This is what you get with Cashman at the helm... mediocrity at it's best...

How does one have good/positive expectations
with the likes of Stephen Drew, CC Sabathia,
Carlos Beltran, Chase Headley, Nathan Eovaldi,
Chris Capuano, Jose Ramirez, Sergio Santos,
Didi Gregorius, Brendan Ryan ? Any real
Yankee fan is not easily duped like some on this
board. But of course, there is nothing like
"root, root, root for the home team". Enjoy
your Cracker Jacks!

Misunderstanding, jumping to conclusions, choosing using historical references to TRY and insult a seeminlngly opposong point of view, pre-judging, ◀(aka being prejudiced), these are things which tilt harmless baseball talk into baloney.

I know dam well- AND HAVE ALREADY STATED FAIRLY RECENTLY - there's still plenty of time for THIS Yankee team to finish LAST in the division.

To any anyone (not Rick or '59), who thinks I am NOT aware this is a flawed Yankee team all I can say is .....pay attention.

Aristotle? GET THE FUK OUTTA HERE!.....and take Aristotle with you.
I was merely trying to make the point that this Yankee team is very much alive and if they do happen to win a "WEAK" division, the crap shoot begins.

And don't forget the WC could also be in play.....haven't we seem teams with less than "great" W-L records play in the WS?

Just because I choose not to dwell on the negative aspects of this Yankee team and instead choose to think they have a real chance to win the division (or WC) when the dust settles doesn't mean I believe the world is flat.
