I would also join him if I could. Or maybe on an island off that island, to give him his space. I'll catch up on all the novels I haven't read since they invented the internet.
 
Some fans are speculating that Dame is using this as an excuse to get out without seeming disloyal. He has been looking for a reason to get out and this conveniently popped up. At least that's what some people are thinking.
 
Welp, 51 years was a good run...
 
I certainly hope he sticks around (Dame is literally the reason I watch an NBA that continues to get less bearable), but all the tweets and reports have added up to the same feeling of a relationship that's on its last legs.

Anybody who's been through the panic of watching affection die and seeing every negative thing in a relationship being amplified recognizes this story. "You left the toilet seat up. Maybe this just isn't going to work"

I never doubted his loyalty and commitment to Portland before, but there's too much smoke here to be absolutely nothing. The language sounds like somebody with one foot out the door (justified by recent events or not). I really hope I'm wrong.
 
Man I don’t blame honestly. I been telling ya for awhile this franchise sucks for him.

It was a smart move to hire Chauncey so he could use that excuse to bounce. Sad times but we will rise from it
 
I couldn’t really care less. I love having Lillard on the team. He is a great player, ambassador…etc for the city of Portland, but I’m old enough to have cheered for A LOT of Blazers. I’m going old on everyone and saying whatever happens is fine because I cheer for the name on the front of the uniform more than the name on the back
 
If this stuff wasn't true Dame would have come out and flat out said at some point that he's not going anywhere.
 
Guys don't be gullible. You really think Dame wants out because of a few fans on the Internet?

It doesn’t matter what team you’re repping and if you play like MJ the internet is going to come after you bc that’s how it is.

Dame wants out because he wants to win but he doesn’t want to seem disloyal…he’s just using this as an excuse. I think this move was perfectly planned out as a way out.
 
I’d be totally cool with him in a re-energized MSG or something. This garbage fan base doesn’t deserve him.
 
I'm not bashing Lillard at all. I'm going to wait and see be supportive of this hire. With Lillard being such a big fan and close with Billups. I do find it hard to believe that Lillard had no prior knowledge of the past sexual assault allegations against him from 1997 though. I also find it hard to believe that the Blazers front office didn't know there would be backlash with this hire.

One would think, anyone who has paid any attention to the last 5-6 years, has seen there's a powder keg related to the #MeToo movement. Lots of casualties (some justified, some not so much). They had to see that this would be an issue, especially given todays world. BUT I will say, and I stand by this statement, the reaction from "fans" imho, is being blown way out of proportion with how the majority of the fans feel.
Part of it does just feed into the national narrative that Damian should be traded out of Portland.

I wouldn't say you're garbage (maybe you are, I don't know you well enough to make that statement). But I know I'm not, and I know that no one who posts here is a "garbage fan". Even the ones who are whackadoos.

Although we (collectively) make up a small % of the fan base, I think we're a closer conglomeration to the average Blazer fan than the morons who are giving Damian shit about this.
 
Every Fan Base has douchebag fans. Blazer Fans are one of the most loyal. Look at how many butts are in the seats during lesser times. The Nuggets have a nice young team and ONLY sell out when its against Chicago, LA, Boston, and Miami (when the big 3 were there). Most nights there are barely 11 grand in the house. This fan base is not garbage. I don't care if your lumpy arse is with us or not.
 
I gotta ask, If we'd just played it safe and got Mike D'Antoni would we be in this situation?

I don’t think you are garbage either :) I do think Portland fans can be a very “what have you done for me lately” and turn on someone quickly. Sellouts like mentioned (not by you) don’t really matter to me in that. I do agree it’s a vocal minority. But we have a very stupid vocal minority (but I agree also that social media numbnuts can bring out the craziest of the crazies) maybe garbage was a bit harsh. But I think we are a tiny bit overrated in the fan department in this state. (I say this as an avid Ducks, Blazers supporters for years, and as a Timbers STH and what’s happened as a fan base since it’s become more “corporate”) lol. Thanks for checking me a bit though friend!
