Honestly, why would he get fired up? What people dont understand is that the ora that surrounds the Knicks in the league is pretty much gone. With the strugles they have had over the last 5+ years, alot of players dont care about the history of the Knicks.

Jason Kidd has owned the Knicks 20-4 since coming to Jersey, so of course there is no need to get excited, anything less then an expected W for him against them would be a major dissappointment. I mean the playoffs last year had a tade bit of excitement cause you had Marbury who was offended at the fact we celebrated as Nets fans when he got dealt Phoenix for Jason, so Marbury is always trying to prove he is better. And also the Tim Thomas/K-Mart/Collins inccident. But after the couple games in New Jersey, it was pretty easy to tell they couldnt come close to being competive. So the last two games in the Garden where a mood point.

Knicks/Nets wont be excited until both teams are successful at the same time.

Its the truth though, i mean yes it is a marquee matchup becuase its New Jersey and New York but i mean Knicks have been falling the whole season, and look at them they dont seem to be stopping. I bet anyone in the league can say taht about the Hawks and the New Orleans, the thing is though the ydont have 42 mil over salary cap.

What Kidd said is true, the knick's are struggling and will be until they get rid of Isiah. He shouldn't go gaga over beating them, but you've got to respect you opponent or you'll get bruned sooner or latter. You could beat the 99-100 times but the one lose you get could keep you out of the playoffs (hypathetically speaking).

Well the Knicks have been struggling over the past few years just like the Nets have before them. I think saying that is wrong, even if it is true. I'm a Knicks fan, but my bias isn't kicking in this time. That's disrespectful to the franchise and many disregard their history.

Personally, I think the Knicks collapses were mental. I mean they were never the greatest team, but they were somewhat decent until January when they suffered that mental slide. They were thinking how are we going to mess this one up instead of trying to finish out the game. I hope New York basketball will be at its fullest next year so this rivalry can heat up a bit.

To me I think the Knicks have started a curse for themselves since they got rid of one of my favorite players Patrick Ewing. I thought it was such a disrespect when they didnt try to keep him and go with a younger marcus camby which did nothing as a Knick. They should have retired him and asked him to join the couching staff.
