Well, people here wanted to trade Aldridge for Asik. So it's not that crazy

Who?

I have never seen anyone propose a trade sending Aldridge to Houston for any combination of their pile of shit.

You've never been to Oregonlive. One poster in particular (BendBazer) still things that is the right move to make.

I was under the impression that pretty much everyone on this board thought trading for Asik would be pointless without having Aldridge still on the team.

Why does anyone still visit OLive at this point?

I believe Mediocre Man wanted to do it if we got Terrance Jones or a pick or something.

there's probably more and more out there, just a cursory search.

Again, it seems like a lot of people trying to send Asik on to a third team. That one trade had us bringing back Asik and Josh Smith, so that's not really a trade where Asik is the centerpiece.

There was one suggestion that I recall--which I was on board with, but was completely unrealistic--that involved us sending out both Aldridge and Batum, and bringing back Asik, Monroe, and Parsons, the theory being that it would save a lot of money, the returning players' production would be similar, and we would return a true center.

Glad it didn't happen.

The trade that I would have done last summer was Aldridge for Lee/Thompson/Barnes and then Batum for Monroe. Not saying any of it would have happened, but that was a deal I would have liked to have seen. At this point, however, I would not do that GS deal. Not even close.

I'm thinking Asik will be in Houston until he's a free agent.

If they could trade Love for Asik, parson and Lin. Loves shitty defense would be a perfect fit for Howard

He's worth more than anyone on that roster.

The only way Love leaves is via free-agency. And I think he's bolting to LA if they continue to have Rubio as their PG.

Look we are all going to have major issues when Durant leaves OKC and joins Howard and Harden in Houston.
