Put it all together and this is a worse team than the Telfair years or the Felton years. This team is shameful and Stotts need to be fired immediately.

I keep trying to tell myself that and every time I keep going back to this being a reoccurring issue with this team. Our defense has been problematic for years now and the NBA really took a turn for the 3 in 19-20 and the Blazers failed to adapt ... we still play basketball like it's 2010.

It's not just 1 game. It's a track record. It's several seasons of shitty defense, leaving players WIDE open for three, relying on Damian to bail them out of many games, the lack of effort, the lack of creativity in the offense, the lack of changes when needed...

This statement is absolutely preposterous. This is the same team as last season except potentially healthy. Minus Hassan, Rio, Wenyen and subbing out Ariza for RoCo. Then you add DJJ. So how is this team worse than last season's team?

They played a terrible game on both ends of the court but Dame, CJ, DJJ, RoCo, Nurk, Gary, Melo, Enes and eventually Zach is a better rotation than we had last season. If you add in the possibility that Hoodie can get closer to his old self and maybe one of our young players pop... I just don't get why you are saying the sky is falling after a short preseason and one game. It can't be a dumber reaction from you. There are a lot of guys I could imagine a dumber take from but not you.

If this were a one-off I’d agree with you. But this is the 4th straight blowout this year. I do count preseason because it was the only time to sharpen the players’ skills before it really counted. I’ve seen no innovation in getting Lillard shots other than allowing him to dribble and create. Our offense has no flow and teams are keying in on our sets because they haven’t changed in years. Throw 2-3 players at Lillard and let Nurk fire 3s as the shot clock winds down.

The time really is now with this shortened season and the West becoming more stacked!
 
Melo and CJ are two of the worst ballhogs to play the game. They freeze the entire offense to get their shots up. It doesn't even matter if they go in or not, the whole team cannot get into any sort of rythm if the ball is not moving. And I don't even want to talk about their defense.

This year started tonight. We never talk about the preseason games so in a year with an unprecedentedly short training camp... stop talking about them. This is one loss and one loss only. This is the only game that has counted and we absolutely sucked but it is still just one game.

With the exception of maybe Memphis, the Blazers lost to the better team in each year of the playoffs.

That doesn't change the fact they didn't make any adjustments or improvements year to year. The Players did (well, damian did) but the coaching didn't.

Utah had a short training camp and they laughed us out of the Moda Center. Check the next 10 games on the schedule and tell me if they’re winnable if we play like we did tonight... or even moderately better for that matter. Blowing this 1 game off is not wise. Someone in the Blazer brass better take notice because whatever Stotts is the throwing out there isn’t fooling anyone except himself...

I don't know if we can beat any team in the league if we play like we did tonight. Our guys had dead legs... we were out of sync on both ends... we couldn't hold onto rebounds or passes. It was a shit show. It was also one game... you can't get a smaller sample size. So I'll reserve my judgment for if we can win any specific game among the next 10 but I guarantee we don't go 0 for 10.

On paper, this is a very deep and talented roster. Talented enough to win against any team.

In reality, this roster is playing the worst team basketball I have ever seen.
