Yeah but in Iowa they probably learned it from Eddie Arnold or Burl Ives....for me in Iowa the first I heard do it was probably Pete SeegerWritten by communist Woody Guthrie. In 4th-grade Music during the McCarthy era, my conservative Iowa teachers would have us sing it. Ha ha.

Only problem is I wanted to sing along but that doesn’t really work out of my mouth.
That's because you post stuff that gets people frothing at the mouth and tearing at each other's throats.I was going to post the lyrics but I got in trouble the last time I did that.

At work. I'll listen in about 20.
Peep how the imagery parallels my life.
Yeah, I fight everyday for equality but at the end of the day I have to give my son hope. Because the arc of justice ALWAYS bends toward right. I love as the end how the music becomes jubilant when he plays for the boy...
THANK YOU FOR SHARING!
I've been a Gary Clark fan for awhile now and haven't heard this one!!
IT'S AMAZINGLY DONE!

Spread it around, the type of song it is means it's not going to get any airplay on the radio.
built his own home from his own trees with a double bladed ax...notched every log himself. Lived his life in that cabinPete Seeger was great.
Aw, you can't really call ole Woody a Communist for reflecting the leanings of Hollywood in his feeling for the Country and it's dirt poor peasant immigrants, populating the continent west of the Hudson in the 30's. There are may forces and feeling mixed in his messages of that day. Love that song though. Woody focused on the beginnings of what became to be the WWII generation, the ultimate American, far more than a Communist.

I STARTED MY DAY WITH THIS SONG!!
