You're pretty much chicken bleep if you have to use more than one monikor, and probably light in the britches. Weak stuff.

It depends on the reason. I've seen people do that to make a statement more humorous. You're just used to all the assholes that do it.

Paging @PapaG on line one. That guy burned through screen names faster than the Kardashian sisters burned through NBA role players.

BNM

The loss means that if you're Chris Paul, you can grab Aminu with 5 seconds left, and get a foul called on him.

Of course, we knew this already, but that's what the loss mean, nevertheless.

I noticed that, too.

I made this mockingly because of all the immigrants on here creating new threads when random ass thoughts pop into their heads.......

But while I’m here, I think if there is ever a “good” loss, this was one. A lot of good can come from this.
I'm an immigrant? Sick!

Dame played like shit and the number one team in the league won . . . Tell me again what the big fucking deal is?
Harden made some ridiculous shots down the stretch <tip of the cap>. Our guy didn't hit em and was cold for most of the game. Incredibly close game. So yeah, Season Over I guess.

Okay, my take for whatever that's worth:

Things it means:
1. The Blazers lost the game and a chance to get more separation from the teams that are chasing them. Fortunately OKC lost too, so no great damage so far.
2. The Blazers continued to get good play from Nurk, Chief, Harkless and the bench. That's a positive as they try to close out the regular season strong.
3. The Blazers need production from Dame and CJ in order to beat the best teams in the West. Most nights they get it. Last night they only got half of the usual production. Some of that was Houston's defense. Some was shot selection. Some was just the inevitable off night.
4. Harden is a lock for MVP and it's not even close, IMHO. You can say what you want about the refs, but he's mastered drawing fouls. Dame and CJ would do well to study how he does it.
5. CP3 is the perfect complement to Harden's brilliance. As long as he can stay healthy, I'd put that backcourt at the top of the list in the NBA. That healthy thing would worry me if I were a Rockets fan. His history speaks for itself.

Things it doesn't mean:
1. The fact that the Blazers challenged on a night when Dame & CJ had off nights is encouraging, but by itself doesn't mean that the Blazers are legitimate contenders. If they can win some of these tough next few games, though, they can stake a claim to contention.
2. The streak wasn't a fluke, despite the narrative that certain folks around here may try to spin it. The Blazers have demonstrated that they are good enough to play with anybody.
3. The fact that the Rockets won and have the best record doesn't, to me at least, make them the favorite to win the title. There was an awful lot of dependency on two great players. I don't think that bodes well against a healthy Warriors team. The prospect of facing them in the playoffs with a healthy Blazers squad doesn't terrify me.

Good post and I will add that 7 game series are much more difficult to win than a single game during the season so Houston still has a lot to prove in the playoffs just as our team and many other teams do as well. The only 2 teams that have proven to be tough in the playoffs is Golden State and San Antonio and even the Spurs have struggled at times in the playoffs lately.

I presume that's sarcasm I see bleeding through.

Jeez man. I make a positive thread and look what happens to the forum. All I'm trying to do is to be more positive lately.. smh.

I think all it the game means is that we can hang with one of the best teams in the league. Also it means that Dame and CJ can have off nights. And I'd like to add that the playoffs this year are going to be off the hook!

But it's kind of just this thing, you know?

Eleven games to go!

Reffing was fine to me. Harden got some dumb calls, but there was a lot of times Harden was playing for a call and forcing contact and the refs held their whistle. When you dig for calls as much as Harden does, you're bound to get at least a few.

The reason the Blazers lost was Harden and Paul going berserk on contested 3s. If they can do that 4 games in each series of the playoffs, they'll win the title for sure. Tip your hat and move onto the next.

I was REALLY impressed by Nurkic dominating. Rockets were trying to put Harden on him (who is actually a really good post defender), and Nurkic used his size and just bullied him. He did it to Ariza too, and looked too big for Capella. If Nurk can dominate mismatches, the Blazers will be a tough out for anyone. Also, Harkless has been awesome!

As long as the Blazers don't fall apart, we're all but locked into the third seed.

I think they do a shitty job.

I'm the only person in the forum that doesn't think every loss is because the refs screwed us and are out to get us
I don't blame every loss on the refs.

As a small-market though, we usually get the short-end of the stick. Against Houston, it's especially bad.

Houston's offensive philosophy is 3 or a lay up. They are going to shoot more FTs. Mega media market Charlotte leads the league in FTA. Also in the top 10 are Phoenix, Minnesota, Milwaukee, OKC, Cleveland. We are 16th.

Lillard is 6th. Top pg, btw.

That's not relevant to the fact that they had 3 or 4 phantom calls against us.

So what you're saying is this guy is either @PtldPlatypus 's alternate account. Or one of the many multi's @SlyPokerDog has?

One thing about Sly, whom I've known for well over a decade, is that he only uses one moniker.

I've only had one other account and that was JesusChristSonOfGod, I would just joke around with it every so often.

Denny banned that account on my birthday last year.

RIP Jesus!

If Dame and CJ contributed more than ZERO from the 3pt line, and Houston didn't shoot insanely above their average, this is a Portland win.

Part of me was somewhat glad to see a loss here as it gives the team motivation as to what they can do better next time. Does anyone remember what the outcome was at the Houston regular seasons games the year we beat them in the playoffs?

Wait. So Blazers win if they just have average games? Ok then what if Aminu, Harkless and Nurkic also just have average games?
