This shit pisses me off...

Ron of course Trumps remarks about this young idiot being a member of ISIS was ridiculous as is many things this blowhard says. BUT......................as a veteran myself it angers the crap out of me when ever I see some asshole like this wiping his feet on a flag that so many fought & died for. And although this act (stepping on the flag) may not be illegal you won't find one veteran who wouldn't think it wasn't criminal. And if I was there I would have ripped his head off & shit down his neck.

The 60s were a whole different time. This low life piece of shit is not protesting against a war, he's just being an asshole.

If you read up on this clown or check out his Instagram it's pretty easy to figure out what he is. Standing on a flag or trying to rush a stage to infringe on somebody's else's rights doesn't make you a hero. That's reserved for the people who use their voice of opposition for the greater good so that their cause means something. All it means for folks like this is the 15 minutes of fame they so desperately seek. It's the same as some of the people currently in the news media who are trying to make the election more about them then the individuals they're supposed to be covering.

I'm a little surprised that you don't see anything wrong with trampling on the flag but that's your right. The point remains that ANYONE who desecrates the American flag is basically pissing on the country that has allowed him & his family to have the opportunities that they have. whether one is a veteran or not most people would not approve of what this shithead is doing. The guys a dick.

...lol...yeah, the guy has ISIS connections.

...this guy is voicing his opinion which is his right...plain and simple.

...and before things get out of hand, I did not say that I personally view him as a hero or a patriot.

He can voice anything he wants as that is his right. As soon as you're leaping barricades and infringing on the rights of others you lose whatever rights you think you have. That's what these liberal groups don't seem to understand about rights and the constitution. They're all for free speech as long as they're the only ones speaking. They're all well versed in their rights but never seem to see that others share in the same rights as well. I have no issue with protesting or speaking out against anything. I have an issue with people who somehow feel like they have the right to infringe on the rights of others. That being said Ron I understand what you're saying in terms of labeling the guy a criminal. I just don't like the thought process of people like him and the other moveon.org types who again think they're the only one with rights.

Think of it this way as well. Can you imagine if somebody tried to rush the stage of Hillary Clinton? There would be calls to have the person hung and thrown in prison for life.

...geez, one more time, I did not say that I view this guy as a hero or a patriot...would most Vets take exception to what he did?...of course they would. Did he use poor judgment in rushing the stage?...of course he did.
...My initial comment was in response to what Mel had said about the guy being "a criminal".

...but I also said that "blind allegiance to a symbolic flag can be dangerous"...and it is. And believe me, I understand your compassion for Vets and I get that...but that's not the issue,

Ron I certainly don't want to turn this into a pissing contest but, the issue I was making in the OP & photo of this clown was what he was doing. And as I said, Vet or no Vet, stepping on the American flag is just wrong. And again, though its not illegal to do so MOST Americans would consider what he's doing as a criminal act or at least should be because basically what this low life opportunist is saying is "FUCK YOU AMERICA!" To which I & many would say.......Then get the hell out.

...Rick, what you're missing is that it is within anyone's rights to say fuck you america...again, the same thing happened in the 60's with all the "America, love it or leave it" signs...those signs were responded to with signs that read "America, fix it or forget it".
...part of what vets have fought for was the very right for anyone to speak their mind...that does not however exempt anyone who speaks their mind from being countered by people who have a different opinion.

...there's no pissing contest, but if it helps, I take back everything I've said in this thread and I deleted all my other replies.

...I already said he used poor judgment in rushing the stage and he was dealt with accordingly. Using the flag to express his displeasure may be in bad taste with some people but it is within his rights...and that was my only point.

You know I can still see them Ron. LOL just kidding and adding some levity. I think everyone's points are important and it's a worthy discussion. I just think in today's Youtube and Instagram world people do things for the wrong reasons as compared to what people might of done in say the 60s.

...Oh yeah, I realize posts don't really "disappear"... just trying to keep the peace.

They do but mods can see them again if they need to. It's all good though. I think the discussion was fine.

...yeah, I won't back down from my opinion...but again, just trying to keep the peace and trying to defuse an evidently volatile topic.

LOL, no buddy its all good, but my bottom line here is of course freedom of speech allows you to say anything (right or wrong) but SAYING something is a whole lot different than DOING something. This jerk can say whatever he wants but doing, like charging barricades or standing on the American flag are just actions of an asshole who needs to be bitch slapped.
