Not answering your question doesnt mean his premise was simply to complain. What instigated him saying whatever it is he said couldve been a lot of things, complaining couldve been one sure, but his comment came before your question and thus your question, the answer to it or lack of answer to it doesnt tell us why he originally made the comment he did does it? Now by not answering your questions it leaves it more open for whatever interpretation we want. Seems like the logic gets a little convoluted when we say, you said X, I asked Y you didnt answer, or answer the way I expected so I concluded the reason you said X is Z.

I enjoy about 90% of the posters on this forum regardless of if they agree or disagree with me. They think and post accordingly. The problem is, 50% of the posts on this OT section are from that 10% of the posters whom I don’t enjoy and whom I believe aren’t actually trying to have discussions. What’s worse, I believe 2 or 3 of those prolific posters to be racist assholes. This is not to say the majority of the posters I disagree with are racist, but several certainly are.

I can’t help but think that the OT Section is pretty much what it’s supposed to be, good, bad or indifferent. If someone gets their tits in an uproar, well that’s what politics (the usual culprit) usually leads to. Let the buyer beware.

But what has really disheartened me is the absolute rude and obnoxious bullshit that happens in the Main Section. A person can’t make a simple observation or voice a basic opinion about sports without getting lit up by about 4-5 “experts” who think they know everything there is to know about the game of basketball (and who usually come off sounding like nothing more than pompous asses). I mean Jeezus, when a guy like @Boob-No-More, one of the more knowledgeable, reasonable and personable (to name a few “ables”) posters gets run off because some jackwads think they are somehow experts, then this place needs to be fumigated. And the saddest part is that the biggest problems don’t see themselves as that at all.

I don’t mind being told I’m full of shit when it comes to politics because politics is entirely full of shit anyway. But when I”m reluctant to talk about something I actually know something about just because some asshole is going to slam me in order to make themselves feel more important, then fuck it. Then it’s time to start pulling back......

It’s not a matter of being offended or hurt or anything like that. It’s a matter of drudgery and gloom to read through the posts. At least by some folks on any topic touching politics.

As far as the racists go, I’ve just come to the sad realization that they are set in their ways, especially the older ones. There’s no point to those conversations.

Then there are s few prolific posters who just talk and don’t try to read and understand the other side. This group has folks on the right and left. Their posts aren’t as bad but they are very rarely insightful.

I dont want to hate but HCP or whatever it is he’s calling himself now, probably is a friend of the players or at least some of them. He’s a vet, and acting like he’s sat around and done nothing to get his position is pretty disrespectful to someone who’s been in the military.
Also and I hope he doesnt take this too terribly, but I think at least 50% of his posts are meant to be tongue in cheek, or sarcastically.
Ive only been here for about a year, but thats kind of what Ive picked up from it. Anyways I dont you to take this the wrong way either, just maybe dont take him too seriously. You can usually tell when he’s being serious.
