This team is going nowhere this year

I wouldn't mind seeing what NICs value is worth. Also, A lot of people might frown upon this but I think Wes could be expendable.

With the emergence of CJ and If you can sign Afflalo, it makes Wes expendable. What could a package of Nic and Wes and change bring you or even a Nic and CJ and change bring you?

Most Blazersfans won't even want to think about it.

The bench still needs work. The SG position is a huge question mark. Wes may never be the same after an injury like that.

There is also the possibility that someone will offer to over-pay RoLo as a FA. Same with AA. Letting them leave could wind up being the lesser of evils. I won't even address the LMA situation, which is too painful to contemplate!

IMHO, it is not a matter of will there be changes - but whether Olshey is driving the changes or being carried along on the tide.
Gotcha. Thanks just wasn't sure where you were coming from.

Since it is unlikely Memphis beats GSW tomorrow night, they will drop below Houston and it is very likely that we will play the Rockets in the first round. Dammit.

If we can draw the Rockets, we will sweep them. When Aldridge plays, we've beaten the Rockets in 6 of the last 8 games. Not only will Aldridge torch the Rockets but Lillard will too. Who on the Rockets can guard Lillard? No one. And better, who on the Rockets does Lillard have to guard? Jason Terry? He can handle that.

Jesus, and I thought I was a rose-colored glasses homer.

While I don't think any first round series will be a sweep outside of maybe GSW-NOP, he does make some good points. Who would they put on Lillard and Aldridge?

However what he did not mention is who do we put on Harden? Wes was huge against the rockets just because of his defense. Don't forget he sealed game 4 with an end of game steal. I'm sorry but there's no way CJ can guard James "The Fish" Harden, he will be fouled out in 2 quarters or less.

After the GS game. someone said Meyers Leonard would do amazingly vs Curry because of the height advantage.
If that's the case, Harden going to be shut down by Nards.

Nic & Wes for Kevin Durant?

I can't imagine OKC dealing with Portland. I agree with the one poster as frustrating as Nic (AND HE IS) I can't think of too many guys out there aside from Durant who could be had or we would want. Maybe deal him for a draft pick who can be slotted into the three position.

Or maybe give him one more year to see if maturity finally kicks in.

He coverd that also.
Harden sucks in playoffs. It is a proven fact.
How can you argue with "It is a proven fact"?

Batum & Mathews for Carmelo?
Nah we can create offense in Stotts scheme so why trade for a player who would make us better on O but much much worse on D. Also his health scares the crap out of me.

This team is going places.

If we play Houston, were going to the 2nd round.

If we play the Clippers, were going to listen to a lot of bitching from Doc, and probably get screwed so bad we're going to lose.

If we play Memphis or SA, we're going fishing.

With the team losing our last regular season home game, the circumstance has not encouraged me at all. In the playoffs, if we win two in a row that would be a step one accomplishment in my book. . If they win the last two I would be momentarily impressed. Who is it out there with 5 minutes left in the game??

With the Memphis loss and Clipper win the Spurs just moved into 5th place. We now have to play the Spurs and i am thinking it will stay that way. NO GOOD at all....
+> The Spurs become religious this time of the year. From fortitude to plain luck, they have survived. No Blazer home court advantage either. I hope no repeat of last year....

Of course things change and yes they can change again. RIGHT NOW (capitolized for KS) the Spurs sit in the 2nd seed. Memphis has dropped to 5th. But there is a 3-way tie record wise from all three teams Clippers, Rockets and Griz. This ain't over till it is over.

Saying that the heart and soul of our team is expendable is simply asinine...

Wes is expendable? Since when? Has anyone seen how horrific we are on defense since he went down? If anything, it makes Matthews that much more valuable.

We are one of the bottom teams in the league on defense right now. It's painful. Arron makes nobody expendable.

Again, Arron would have been a terrific sixth man for us. He improved our defense, when we still had Wes. CJ's offense and fit within the offense is much better than Afflalo. Arron is the superior one-on-one defender and can play both backup wing positions. CJ can play both backup guard positions. Either can start while Wes is recovering. We need to keep all three for the time being, and unless a great trade presents itself this summer, evaluate our needs at the mid-season trade deadline.

Of those mentioned, I think the Griz will claw us, The Rockets could ignite as we beat them last year but we have a chance against the Clippers. SA will be
a difficult match up for any Weastern Conference team.
