To me Roy had to play a superior game which he did, 40+ and led the team. He's an allstar and it showed tonight!!!! LA too played a great game and should be  for his effort! These two won the game and that for me is where the praise stops and the concern takes over. Great we won!!! But WOW WE NEED TO ADJUST!!!!!

As our boys head to Houston some glaring problems are NOW QUITE CLEAR!!!! We have NO ANSWER FOR BROOKS who yet again looked like an allstar, and Wafer who yet again glided to the hoop with ease!!!!! Hey NATE?????? For the last fucking time!!!! Blake is getting bitch slapped by Brooks!!!!!!! One missed shot by our boys in the last three mins and Houston with Brooks hitting shot after shot could have beaten us yet again. IF this game was played in Houston tonight, Blazers lose by 10 and I have not doubt in my mind. Do any of you?

I think every Blazer fan knows that if Outlaw needs 3 quarters to warm up and GO can't give more than 4 points, and Blake looks lost out there, that going down 3-1 seems very realistic! You could see in Roys interview after the game that he knew as well as he played, home court saved them! It's telling when your allstar says " We just wanted to make sure our fans got another game in our building!" Not we plan on winning this thing and taking one in Houston. Roy knew how much energy it took out of him to get tonights win.

Tonight is clear that if Blake can't make his shots, can't get to the rim, and is going to get smoked by Brooks that it's time for Bayless to see some time. We need his energy and a tough in your face defense to jam Brooks.

My question is do we think B Roy can have two more 40 + games in Houston with only LA stepping up?

I think we all know the answer to that question!

I thought Blake played an excellent defensive game against Brooks. Definitely better than game one. Brooks was just still hitting some insane shots. The best defense in the world can't stop someone who is in a zone.

The way I see it, Mutombo goes down tonight.... Yao on Friday?

Blake is two body lengths away from Brooks on most plays because Brooks creates great space for himself. Blake is to slow and it's glaring!

Oh and by the way... Bayless isn't seeing anything other than the end of the bench outside of garbage time, and you all know it, so your whining and bitching about it is useless. Find a new dead horse to beat.

All we need is to somehow steal ONE game in Houston. That's it, we just need to stay close and give ourselves a chance in the fourth quarter. Brooks had a pretty poor first half offensively, and we made some great adjustments against Yao tonight. He didn't get off as much as Game 1. Hopefully we get the road calls that Houston has continued to get in Games 1 and 2.

If we get HOUSTON game 1 calls as a road team than anything can happen. That said if the refs get Joel and Greg in monster foul trouble there it's going to be tough! As for Bayless not seeing the court, that shows exactly the stupidity of the coaching staff not recognizing that Wafer and Brooks are death punching us! We need a in your face quick defender and a player that can bring energy and get to the rim. Outside of Roy.... Bayless does exactly that and let's keep in mind that Wafer is killing us and he's exactly like Bayless.

Suggesting a player that might be effective is not whinning or bitching. What is wrong with you? Brooks has murdered us two games in a row and Wafer has too! Should we wait for both of these guys to feel real comfy at home and explode for 25 each?

Wafer has proven to be a far better outside shooter in the NBA. I know Bayless could shoot in college, but we have yet to see it. Wafer is a sharp shooter.

We've got to try and jam these guys and get them out of rythem early! Blake and Sergio are getting punked! Batum on Wafer and Bayless on Brooks can't hurt! If Bayless fouls out atleast Brooks gets beaten on and is making foul shots instead of threes! On top of that Bayless will attack the rim and potentially get Yao in foul trouble.

This isn't the NFL Yardape! Jamming is frowned upon

Hey they bump us all over the court and laugh. Bayless is our pit bull and Brooks is a skinny wafer of a guy! Bayless may foul out but Brooks will get the worst of that exchange and maybe he'll be taken out of flow. That's Great FOR US!!!!

I think winning this game gets the proverbial monkey off our back. If we had gotten swept, the Blazers would have carried that all of next year until the playoffs. Its a HUGE relief to win a playoff game...finally!

Now win the series and I'll be happy (until we beat the L*kers or Jazz in Round 2)

I think if we can nuetralize Brooks knowing thay Yao now has no backup that the whole offense of the Rockets falls on Artest! That's just where we want it to be.

What we don't want is Wafer and Brooks to score 25 each and Artest to throw in 18 and Yao 15. Then we lose!

There's just no way that Brooks can keep this up. Did you look at his stats for the series? Those are HOFer numbers.

27 ppg, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 58.8 fg%, 62.5% from downtown.

Nobody can keep up that torrid pace.

I can't believe Wafer is such a beast offensively. He's found his niche in this league and is making the most of it. But damn... a guy we traded Taurean Green for could be the difference in a win or loss in this series.

Not that your point doesn't still stand, Nate... but he's actually averaging 25 ppg, 6 apg, 3 rpg, and 2.5 TO's (65.5% FG, 69.2% 3pt. FG, and 75% FT's). Still, obviously, an unreal start to the series for that little fucker.

This win means that we must win a game in Houston (game 3 or 4) otherwise we will lose by game 6 at their place.

huh? mutumbo going down doesn't force the offense to be more on artest. mutumbo hardly played all year. the only reason he's been playing in this series is to give the team someone other than yao who can legitimately guard oden. we'll see what the rockets do to match up with oden now that he's out, but it won't negatively effect the rockets offense in any way.

Those are his Game 1 numbers. He didn't do that in Game 2.

My comment on Yao and the offense shifting to Artest and Brooks is due to the fact that Houston now outside of Yao has no inside presence! Yao will have to play super smart on the defensive end to not pick up fouls. When he sits we can attack the paint aggresively! If Roy, LA and hopefully Bayless can get to the rim early and strap Yao with a couple fouls, than GO and Pryz can rule the paint, which inturn will open up our outside shooting.

Losing Mutombo takes away the rest and the luxury Yao has had especially against the height our team possesses.

Brooks had 14 points until the last 30 seconds... I'd say Blake did ok most of the night.

This win means we are still in the series, imo. If we would have lost game 2, I think our season was all but over, possibly in a sweep.

We gotta work our asses off and take one of the next two. Man, I love the playoffs.

Go Blazers! Way to bounce back after a demoralizing loss.

mutumbo only played in 9 regular season games for the rockets. he was basically on the team in case yao got hurt and to provide another big body against teams with multiple big centers(like the blazers). the rockets will be fine without him though they'll have to give a lot more attention to oden on offense if yao is out of the game. i really doubt it is a significant change in the series though.

I have a very simple solution to Wafer. It is that you quite playing them like they are a friend from the teams past, and when they come down the lane, you make sure when they hit the court on their back that they know the past, is the past, and now the Blazers are going to put you on your back every time you come down the lane.

along those lines.. I was way up in row R.. but after the open court dunk did Wafer kind of stare down Mr Allen?

Yea I was kind of pissed because after some physical play Roy came over to Rafer and they bumped fist like "it's cool". Quit being his friend on the court. Put some doubt in his mind as to what will happen if he comes down the lane.
