Another angle.

I wonder if Portland and Houston spoke about Aldridge being plan B to Dwight? No idea what that would entail though

Sorry if this was already posted. Take away all the dunks, which were nice and fun and all. But just looking at non-dunks I see he has some decent footwork, a pretty good spin move in the post, offensive rebounding, good hustle, finishes well with the left, will definitely get us some blocks and I can see why adding even a decent jumper would help his game a lot because he does have a quick first step. I know its just a highlight film but there is easily potential there. And this is what I see with him being a normal rookie that has room to grow and time to learn the game. Worst case scenario his is going to be great off the bench. And he is going to get some lobs this year from Dame and Co.

Robinson is a lot bigger than I thought. He's much bigger than a Corliss Williamson. He's got a big body and long arms. Trying to think about who he reminds me of...

JJ Hickson
Tristan Thompson
Tyrus Thomas

Body size (JUST BODY SIZE!) he reminds me of Karl Malone but more athletic. I have been trying to find Malone's wingspan

According to DraftExpress he's the same height as:

Kevin Love
Antawn Jamison
Carlos Boozer
Jared Sullinger
Carl Landry
Paul George (but hasn't he grown since he was drafted?)
Big Baby
Udonis Haslem
David Lee
Markieff Morris
Ersan Ilyasova
Jeff Green
Kurt Thomas

He's got the same wingspan as:
Jason Maxiell (who is 2.25" shorter)
Aaron Gray
Aminu
and just a smidge less than Len and Dieng.

And, when drafted, he weighed (to the lb) the same (244lbs) as
Corliss Williamson (!)
Anthony Tolliver
one lb more than Kwame Brown.

With TRob rebounding I'm liking the idea of him and LaMarcus at the 4/5 together for extended minutes.

One writer wrote this about him last spring:

Very similar body shape, LeBron's wingspan 7' .025"

Man, I dont want to make him into a jump shooter like the Kings but developing a reliable jumper would take his game to another level.

I hope he gets his mojo back. I think the guy is the kind of athletic beast this team needs. Maybe a bit of Lucas in him. He seems pretty motivated, moreso considering how often he has been traded. Giving him a real shot and bringing in Withey could give amazing results.

Can't wait until July 10 when we can hear him and Olshey talk about this.

Let's end this and just say he is going to help us more than those picks and Euros ever would have. End of debate.

HCP has spoken! Lets shut this shit down and head home for the day fellas! :) (soon to be followed by HCP reply with potato joke)

2nd rounders are a dime a dozen. We'll use PA's money to buy some if we like a player that low. And the euros? I used to love our stable, but we've had too many disappointments for me to believe in those players. For every one that makes it, three or four fail and bail back to Europe.

Ordinary 2nd-round picks and 19-year-old Euros may be a dime a dozen, but we gave up starters on two of the top-5 Euro teams, each aged about 22-23. On the other hand, I had read that the Greek's agent had asked Olshey to shop him around for a bigger city.

The elephant in the room: if the Greek is so good, why has there been zero talk of him coming to the Blazers? I'm guessing jlprk hit it - he has issued a "trade me or I stay in Europe" ultimatum. That makes this pretty close to a something-for-nothing deal.

I found where I read it.

According to sources, Papanikolaou, who won his second straight Euroleague championship for Olympiakos last month, is being shopped by the Blazers — at the request of his agent, Marc Cornstein.

Google can't find what doesn't exist. No posters ever clamored for Rudy to start over Roy. (Notice, Papa, how an adult words that, without posting in 10 threads using the word "lie"?) As for saying Sergio is the next Nash, there was a joke once. If you believed it, you need to loosen up.

So find your links. You can't.

Link does not go to the original column and s2 does not go back that far. That was just the first page of returns on bing.

You can believe that overseas players are overhyped or not. That is your opinion. I am of the thought that there is a reason for players going late in the first or in the second like what we traded for Robinson. Lottery tickets only cost a dollar and they are worth less than that. Nobody says stores are stupid for selling them if they turn out to be worth more than a dollar. Too many overseas players, like I demonstrated with Sergio, are viewed as winning lottery tickets when they are merely lottery tickets.

I got ya to search for 1 hour and 28 minutes so I win!

Bethlehem Shoals. The guy wrote that article just to praise Canzano. The disappearance of Canzano's article is no surprise. I've searched before to no avail for stuff I remember that incriminates him.

Well, nice try. Now, see what else you can find tonight. I'll check back after I sleep for about 12 hours. Get on it! You have a deadline!
