Thoughts on rebuilding

I don't think we need to make a solid conscious decision to dump and rebuild. However, they absolutely must be open to the idea of dealing anyone on the roster, working off of an assumption we don't win a title with this team. I know anything is possible, sure. But I think they need to have an open mind to working with the thought line of....Felton will not be our PG when we win a title. Wes won't be our SG. Nic/Wallace won't be our SF. etc. Not to say they WON'T absolutely, but thinking along those lines will make sure they don't pass on a good deal offered, because they view someone better than they might be.

Well, somebody needs to make a conscious effort to do something. A little tweak here a little change there, etc. probably isn't going to get much accomplished. But on the bright-side the imminent retirments of Camby and Kurt Thomas along with the contract status of guys like Felton, Wallace, Nicolas, Oden and Crawford make big changes almost inevitable.

Now the real question is whether or not they have anybody (or will they get anybody) that has a clear vision of what to do and the stones (and empowerment from Allen) to put the team on a path to success?

I think biggest thing we need to do this season is trade Camby. Find a contender with a young-ish C on the bench, and see if there is a swap there. Hell, even something like Aldrich from OKC or something. Basically, get something, IMO, before he leaves for nothing. Wallace, I think, we'll still be able to S&T in the offseason, so unless we get a solid offer for him, I'd sit on him. His value will lie mostly for a contender, teams which are likely over the cap, so we can get something in a S&T, I would think, either young piece or a pick.

Otherwise, it looks like there is potential for a big change this offseason, as you mentioned, with the guys we have expiring.

Wallace might have more value as a potential expiring contract and a solid wing defender for a team that is hoping to compete for a title before the trading deadline. Regardless, the winds of change are about to start blowing (hopefully).

Which contender needs a wing? Or at least needs to replace their wing? Miami has lebron, Chicago has deng, OKC has Durant, Dallas well maybe not contenders, New York lol has melo. Who else?

You're thinking about the wrong kind of wing. Think about a team that needs a Battier, Marion or Deng type of player -- a stopper on the perimeter who can bolster a team's defense, add some rebounding and toughness.

Orlando could definitely use him. To bad they have little to make a deal worthwhile for us.
 
Another strategy might be to go after a guy like Mayo or Johnny Flynn. They had huge potential at one point, and actually put up decent numbers for young players. Maybe a change of scenery and plenty of minutes cures what ails them.

Not true. Dwayne Wade won the title with the Heat.
 
This draft is going to be STACKED. If we can get in the top 10 we could find some real difference makers. Thomas Robinson, Perry Jones, Meyers Leonard, Kendall Marshall, Kabongo and even Rivers if he decides to enter could all be difference makers.
