I know this is a week early, but......................

Blazers @ Nuggets -- 7:30 PM PST -- Nationally Broadcast On TNT

I'm hopeful that, by then, Ernie, Kenny, Charles(?), and the rest of the TNT gang will be talking about Portland potentially overtaking Denver in the NW Division (that is, in the final outcome.)

Now, invariably, these are the types of games that, traditionally, the Blazers kind of knuckle-under on. Know-what-I'm-talkin'-about? I'm talking about games that have something riding on the line, coupled with a national audience. You know, those "let's show it to the world" types of games.

We shall see, though, just how far our boys have come. I think this will be a true test (for now, at least) to see just that.

Go Blazers!

Should be a fun one!

Looks like they'll have Nene back by then. :(
Feb. 23 News: Nene (bone bruise) is expected to miss one week, the Denver Post reports.

It might very well be for 1st in the division

i actually don't want us to pass denver in standings.....it means we will be playing a healthy utah instead of houston in playoffs

After out last two amazing showcases on TNT (Roy's buzzer beater at Houston, Roy's 52 at PHX) I hope we can keep it up to make us become a better known household name. Unfortunately, this time we won't have home court.

For sure, ABM. It'll be a night to rock & roll.

If the Nuggets lose @ Detroit on Tuesday, and the Blazers beat the Pacers at the RG on Wednesday, then Thursday's game in Denver will be for sole possession of 1st in the NW.

How do you like DEM apples?!!

2nd game of a back to back playing at mile high altitude will be tough.

The good news is, we have young guys, coupled with the fact that Nate could go 10 deep if he had to.

Joel, Frye, LMA, Batum, Travis, Roy, Rudy, Blake, Sergio, and Bayless

As well, I'm hopeful for a put-down on the Pacers Wednesday night so that Nate can rest some of the guys.

I have tickets for the game. It should be good.

Win tomorrow and Thursday and we lead the division.

Nuggets are going to lose to the Pistons so that means if the Nuggets lose to us, they go to 39-23 and if we win our next two, we go to 39-22.

Go Blazers.

It's in your hands.

Re: Win tomorrow and Thursday and we lead the division.

Would be quite a change from all the "OMG THE SKY IS FALLINGGGGGG" posts after our 2 game losing streak..

We still gotta beat Indi tonight.

The game at Denver is going to be tough. The Trail Blazers wont arrive in Denver until late Wed. night / early Thursday morning, they lose an hour, and have to deal with the altitude.

All seedings can change in a few weeks. You can never know. However I am thinking grabbing the 4th spot will give us that extra home turf if its pushed to 7 games.

NW Division title is ours! Let's take it!
Denver then travels to play Utah the next night. This race is going to get crazy with Denver possibly finding itself from leader to third in the division in a matter of 2-3 days.

2nd game of a back to back playing at mile high altitude will be tough.
When bettors look at NBA games some factors they consider:

2nd game of a back to back - the team on the back to back wins at a lower percentage than normal.

Altitude - non altitude teams win at a lower percentage than normal.

Road game - team's win at a lower percentage than at home

Opponent record - team's lose more games to better teams. Duh.

The second game of a back to back - on the road - against a very good team. Ridiculous.

At the beginning of the season, you look at a game on the schedule like this, and curse the schedule maker for handing you a near guaranteed loss.

It will be very difficult for the Blazers to win this game. They may have a 10% chance.

We don't win in Denver very often but we had almost no chance of winning the lottery 2 years ago and look what happened!

Actually I'm considering a grass roots campaign to move Salt Lake City and Denver to Texas. Then agree to just take the 10 losses we'd get in Texas if we went there and just avoid the state all together. I think it would just be easier on the Blazers and the message board fans... either that or ask the team doctors to prescribe all of us lithium.

No doubt! They've been sweeping us for years! I don't think tonight's game is a guaranteed win by any means and I really really don't want the players to be thinking about Denver right now.

7:30 cant come soon enough!

I recently purchased a sampler (6 varieties) 12-pack of Dundee beer. I'm sure I'll be enjoying more than one of those this evening.

That said, I've almost resigned myself to the fact that we have virtually no shot at winning tonight's game. It's helping me to cope. :dunno:

Masbee's words continue to haunt me:

Hopefully Joel isnt too sick today and can play and be effective tonight. It's gonna be tough to win tonight, but without Joel's defense and rebounding I would give us ZERO chance to win if he cant go.
