As much as I ripped on Sharpe I do wonder if he is still hurt ( sore ) from his latest injury and IF not for the playoffs would he even have returned. This is a story to monitor cause if not ( injury reasons ) taking whatever bias I have out he has to be like - stop jerking me around with my minutes and play me or trade me at this point. I mean Billups did this to him on his minutes and now Tiago so I have to think IF that is the reason he has some blame but if for some reason he is not a fit for THIS team then trade him. -- period

I didn't like how he limited his minutes, but at the same time, he's kind of passive out there.

Doesn't justify why other defensive bums (or players who offered NOTHING offensively) got minutes though.

If you're looking for a good coach at a reasonable price you're going to be hard pressed to beat this resume.

It's a good resume. Getting this team to finish with a winning record and getting to the playoffs, even if they got their asses royally handed to them is an impressive feat.

My qualms with Tiago is that he seems to only understand how to use the players one way. It's the same shit every game. We keep doing things that aren't working. He doesn't seem to get how to use different players together, play to strengths, and hide weaknesses.

He doesn't seem to understand how to make adjustments. How to prepare his team for different situations.

Also, he used to be a center in the NBA, yet he doesn't know how to use/utilize a center in the lineups. He treats Clingan like a shooting guard. He's not telling him to go inside and dominate. Clingan is camping at the line and shooting threes. Its great if he makes one, but he isn't a shooter.

There are just so many mistakes happening out there. I don't see them being corrected. I don't see him telling them to do different. I don't see the team trying different plays. It's just same thing over and over. It makes it very easy for the opponent.

We aren't using players right. I.e. Clingan, Grant.

We need a coach who understands how to do all of these things. Does Tiago? Haven't seen it yet.

If they do keep Tiago, I hope he clears the bench, gets new assistants, and Cronin, if he is still around and Dundon are burning these things into him.

so wait...he offered 4 million for Malone, but won't pay Tiago the going rate?

Something doesn't add up.

We’ve entered the phase where old reporting is just getting regurgitated by randos on Twitter.

So much of it is basically Quick/Canzano (special shout to Bill Oram) sourced to begin with too… and like I simply can’t really take them all that seriously.

You just described 95% of sports reporting on Twitter.

Playing hurt. Minutes restrictions. This was covered in depth.
I don't think this is accurate per Tiago's final interview and in fact I can't find one time this series that he said Shaedon still had minutes restrictions.

Here (around 3:40) he implies heavily that Shaedon wasn't bringing the energy that Tiago wanted. Tiago had every opportunity to mention an injury or minutes restrictions...

I was on board with Tiago until I saw him coaching in playoffs. Listen Spurs are better team no question, but this playoff he was using it as a resume for the coaching job by playing vets over the guys we needed to gain experience. He did poor job of adjustments, the offense didn’t work all year we just played harder than most teams (credit to him or maybe just the makeup of the team). Not playing two of your franchise players in the last game is idiotic, if anything you have now created a potential problem with those guys.
