Tiago Splitter

It's a good resume. Getting this team to finish with a winning record and getting to the playoffs, even if they got their asses royally handed to them is an impressive feat.

My qualms with Tiago is that he seems to only understand how to use the players one way. It's the same shit every game. We keep doing things that aren't working. He doesn't seem to get how to use different players together, play to strengths, and hide weaknesses.

He doesn't seem to understand how to make adjustments. How to prepare his team for different situations.

Also, he used to be a center in the NBA, yet he doesn't know how to use/utilize a center in the lineups. He treats Clingan like a shooting guard. He's not telling him to go inside and dominate. Clingan is camping at the line and shooting threes. Its great if he makes one, but he isn't a shooter.

There are just so many mistakes happening out there. I don't see them being corrected. I don't see him telling them to do different. I don't see the team trying different plays. It's just same thing over and over. It makes it very easy for the opponent.

We aren't using players right. I.e. Clingan, Grant.

We need a coach who understands how to do all of these things. Does Tiago? Haven't seen it yet.

If they do keep Tiago, I hope he clears the bench, gets new assistants, and Cronin, if he is still around and Dundon are burning these things into him.
The players can't shoot consistently. When they make 3s they win . But this team just isn't going to do that more than about half the time...

Doesn't explain off my other qualms and why aren't they attacking the rim instead of shooting so many threes, if they can't shoot?

I think that the bad shooting wasn't just a feature of Cronin's roster. I think our guys played sped up all season. Their shots looked rushed. Hell we picked up Vit who was shooting 42% from three with the Hawks and he came here and shot 30%. Guys like Shaedon have perfect looking form but can't seem to get consistent.

It will be interesting if we get to see a bunch of these guys in a different coach's offense.

Yeah, I thought about that a lot this season. Every nationally broadcast game they'd point out that we were at the bottom of the league in 3pt% but at the top of the league in attempts.

The logical adjustment to that would be to be near the middle of the pack in three point attempts and try to get more field goals attacking the rim. To be honest the offense didn't seem too organized at any point this season.

I agree. I think the speed hurt us. Are shots are often rushed and off balanced. Guys aren't allowed to comfortably set themselves from out there to get better attempts off.

This whole 1-1.5 million for a head coach got me thinking?
Average coach in the NBA gets 10-17 million.
Average euro coach gets over 500K euros. Good coaches in Europe get 4 million euros.
So exactly where does he think he’s going to get a coach at that price?
Maybe China?

I have no idea. It's a bad spot to go cheap at.

I don’t think it’s true either but Dwight is sure set on it.
There’s been a few posts saying it’s absolutely ridiculous to think that it is.
Wait and see is the approach I’m taking.
Just thought it was funny going for a Chinese coach.

Thiago when asked what he would do differently if he could go back in time was design more sets from the jump.
