Despite the early struggles I managed to book a road trip to the US with Portland as the landing spot (had to). It's my second time in Portland after 2010. A lot must have changed in between. I will be around early february (7-10) with the game against Boston as the highlight. The 7 in the evening I will try to watch the game against Dallas somewhere.

I need tips from you:
- Easiest way to get to tickets.
- Which part of the city should I sleep.
- Where to watch Blazers game in town.
- Any other tip will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

If you're going by yourself it would be easy to upgrade tickets. You could get 100 level baseline for about $40.

Message me if you're interested I'll give you the rundown on how to do that.

Is it just you or are you traveling with someone?

We do have a Skybox for the Boston game. If you want to sit with others from the forum I can save you a seat.

Really? If I was coming from out of the country I'd want to sit in the 100 level vs being up in the 300 level. But if he wants a seat with us he can have one.

No no. Your right. I mean if he wants to sit in the skyobx, its a must to make room. Ill give my sit up if need be.

Great. Thank you. I will write to you when I choose which solution I will chose

Appreciate the proposition. One question: How good is the view from the skybox?

Stay at the Ace Hotel but get a room with a private bathroom (some have communal bathrooms/showers which is kinda annoying). Its a very dorm/hipster feel but kind of fun. Good area to be in too, right near the Pearl District and Downtown. Walk a few blocks and you can take MAX to the game.

The Nines is also dope, a little more luxury. Big fan of the Hotel Monaco too. If your on a budget, the Paramount is not too bad neither is Courtyard Marriott City Center.

I'd suggest staying here: http://hoteleastlund.com/

Very close to the Rose Garden, right on major public transportation routes, good access to the entire city. Unfortunately there's not a lot of good restaurants nearby, but again - you're centrally located so it's not too far in any direction to good food.

I haven't been yet, but at some point I plan on checking out a game here: http://centurybarpdx.com/

This is another good suggestion.

Oh, the Jupiter Hotel is another centrally located hotel, close enough to the Rose Garden, better walking access to bars/restaurants than Eastlund, kinda "hipstery" like Ace Hotel.

Its very European.

Has a "living room" with couches for you to hang out in all day. You can borrow their Bikes to bike around Portland. There's a Stumptown Coffee connected to it as well as a bar/restaurant/etc. Like a block from Powells books too.

Skyboxes are high above the court--above the 300 level--and they're basically corner arena. So in terms of view of the game, they're not good. The benefit is the extra room and semi-exclusive restroom afforded by being in the box, as well as the opportunity to hobnob with other zeros from this forum.

That means more Layman? Yeah!
I could also try to get a credential (i am journalist) but is it really worth it in term of view?
Damn you! That was supposed to make you angry and then you were supposed to claim I was picking on you!

What're you talking about? Did they totally redo the inside of the RG in the past couple years? Use to be they were above 200 and below 300 and circled the entire area.

The Rip City Fan Shop in the Moda Center is prob the best place to get your blazers gear (other than the Adidas Employee store if you can get hooked up there).

Also a big fan of the Portland Smash store at Lloyd Center although its a bit out of the way unless you are specifically looking for Blazers gear.

You can get a bunch of the www.trillblazin.net stuff over at Compound Gallery in Chinatown if you like that stuff.

I'd probably check out www.portlandgear.com near the Soccer Stadium. Good shirts to rock and pretty nice quality too.

No, those are suites. Skyboxes are completely different.
