We could so easily be 9-1 right now... or 10-0.
We should have beaten Denver and Atlanta.

Bucks just beat the Nuggets. So, we are now tied with them for 1st place in the Northwest Division at 6-3.
BNM
is San Antonio any good?
I've said SA was overrated all summer.
But they added Richard Jefferson and Antonio McDyess?!?!

I assume you are agreeing with me.![]()

Fire Nate.
We don't need to, now. He's doing and implementing many of the things that we "clueless" fans were spouting off about. His coaching and decision-making is vastly improved from just two weeks ago.
When CoolStandings.com updates after the last game tonight ends in an hour, it will show the expected wins as about
55.0 (.671) Portland
51.4 (.627) Denver
A 3.6 game lead. We are on track to take this thing easily. No tiebreaker necessary.
When the Blazers lose, Nate is an idiot. When they win, he's still an idiot because he didn't do what the fans (supposedly) wanted sooner. Of course, the first time the Blazers lose a game with the three guard starting line-up, it will also be because Nate is an idiot.
You've convinced me that we've been too harsh on McMillan.
So what has that boob Pritchard been up to lately?
while i'm pleased with the play of late, let's all remember who we have played so far. Minny and Memphis are 3 of those wins, not exactly the toughest of teams.
It is the opinion of many that the winning streak is due to Miller starting, not the 3-guard lineup. We haven't had a chance to separate the two (as I mentioned previously, we're 4-0 with Miller starting), so you can't dismiss the position so hastily.Yeah, because we all know how many "clueless" fans were imploring Nate to go with a Roy/Miller/Blake starting line-up. Funny how all those same "clueless" fans who pooh-poohed (and continue to pooh-pooh) the three guard starting line-up now want to take credit for being smarter than Nate by saying he's only doing what they wanted all long.
While a lot of us (me included) wanted Miller to start, I don't recall a single poster advocating starting both Miller AND Blake before the fact.
To be fair, Denver has played an extremely road heavy schedule.Denver came out strong to start the season, but I have watched their last 2 games and they are starting to show some vulnerability. They came very close to losing in Chicago the game before last night. If Brad Miller had 0.1 more second on the clock, they lose. The last 2 games they have been lit up by fast PG types who penetrate the paint. They have also been giving up more points than they had been.

You actually make a very good point. I think it has more to do with Roy accepting Miller starting, than Blake and Miller being on the floor at the same time.
I think it's about smarter defensive rotations than anything else. Webster is a better individual defender than Miller - but Miller, Blake and Roy seem to be able to interchange guarding on the perimeter a lot better, imho - they are loading on one side to the other a lot better than what we have seen earlier in the year. In the 2nd unit - it added time for Bayless who drives better to the hoop than Miller, this year, and leaves Rudy to play more with the ball orchestrating the offense.
The biggest thing on offense that happened with Miller in was that by forcing Roy to accept Miller as the primary ball handler until the 4th quarter - spacing is a ton better - it is much harder to sag off Brandon and Blake than it is of Miller.
You are correct. This is the same defense that the Sonics played when Nate was there. The perimeter players switch everything so they don't have to fight through screens. They try to force everything baseline that they can. Every once in a while you see the Blazers get a little confused running it, but overall right now they are doing a good job. It is more effective when they are setting picks on the perimeter than it is when you have a one on one creator type out there who doesn't want the high pick.
