Tim Quarterman becomes a Blazer

He owes at least 50% of his contract to Ben Simmons. Don't know what Neil sees in him. I don't think he's an NBA player-- training camp fodder possibly.

He's got a good physical mold, i think Neil is looking for players with the right physical attributes in hope the coaching staff can develop them into good role players.

It's a nice strategy, but i don't think we need too many of these projects plus Meyers on the roster.

What would you rather do with the 12th-15th roster spots???

I think he will keep it at two un-drafted players per year. Two guys who are just happy to be in the NBA and who will work their asses off to get better. Like Duckhook said, he would love to find a steal like Livingston.

Jeez. We have a fews projec to say the least. Got to think we are going to make some cuts in camp. I mean Montero and Pat will probably gone by the end of the fall. Neil's faith in the instructional value of NBA coaching can onky go SO far. I'd be happy if Noah turns out a contributor.

Maybe after summer league they're not so hot on Napier

He barely played. He looked bad in his first game which was to be expected with no practice time with the team. Then looked pretty good in the first half of his 2nd game before he got hurt. I don't think they saw enough one way or the other.

There's a quarter of a man in the market
With a quarter of a car so its easy to park it
He gets to the counter he saves what he can
But he only saves a quarter he's a quarter of a man

Now this quarter of a man he got fired
The next damn day he got hired hired
The only thing wrong with this plan
He only gets a quarter he's a quarter of man

[Chorus]
Every day he's on the street
Too few quarters to live or to eat
He's so little the people all stare
But he only pays a quarter fare
Oh

Now the quarter of a man's on vacation
But he still gets his ration
When he gets to the market he pays what he can
But he only pays a quarter he's a quarter of a man

barfo

Olshey looking for the next Shaun Livingston (sans the gnarly knee injury)?

That was my thought. too. Not nearly as good, but a similar player.

Good pickup. Probably doesn't make the team, but this is the kind of player that's worth taking a look at.

I think he got good chance making the team Montero better start improving or might be outside looking in.

It's not only the 12th-15th spots.

These are out current projects\locker room guys:
Pat
MyLe
Layman
Kaman (if he re-signs)
Montero
Napier
Vonleh
Tim (if he stays).

That's 7-8 guys you can't really trust in a game you care about.
I get why you sign them, but there are experienced guys in the NBA, d-league and in Europe who deserve that chance as well.

We don't have to commit for at least 2 seasons for every player like that, i think we should mix it up a bit more.
Last year i said we should take a look at Ian Clark and we probably could have signed him this summer as well.

Lmao..

1.) Kamans not resigning, we don't have a roster spot.

2.) With Quarterman we have 16 guys. One of Napier/Quarterman will go.

3.) Meyers doesn't belong in that group. He's a rotation player.

4.) Vonleh started for parts of last year and has a ton of potential. As an 11th man that can play emergency minutes, he's fine.

So that leaves you with Pat, Layman, Montero, and Napier/Quarterman at 12th-15th. Only 2 of those guys will even suit up.

So well exactly do you think we should sign to ride the bench as a 13th man over developing young guys in house?

It's not MY job to do it.
I did that search once last season, not gonna spend time again just to make my point.

I really doubt that this guy sees minutes as a Trail Blazer during the regular season, or is on the roster.

Neil is still looking for that diamond in the ruff. Yes there are better player out there than some of these guys on this roster. But do they fit for the chemistry and the culture of this team.

I think it's a training camp invitation mostly, if he wows everyone he could get a real contract but it's unlikely.
Also, the player I would like us to give a chance to is Pierre Jackson but Im guessing with Napier and the many players we already have (you didn't even mention Cliff Alexander) he would probably try to find a contract elsewhere. I think he's a legit backup PG, at least for a lower level team

Ill pass on Jackson. Holds the ball too much and wont work in our offense.

You're right, i'll prepare a full scouting report on 20 interesting prospects for you ASAP.
Well don't act like you know that there's better options out there when you don't even know any other options out there.

I talked about the approach towards these spots, not about my knowledge about replacement players.

But you still didn't bring up any real alternative you just said "There's other players that deserve a chance".

How is that sentence wrong?
Because you're saying it as if to suggest roster changes, when there's more players that deserve a chance than there are chances. Everyone on our team deserves a chance as well.

"Dame Dolla with the dime to Quarterman" says color analyst Penny Hardaway as he high fives Buck Williams who happens to be sitting next to 50 Cent who's there to sign Dame to a record label. That would be so money!
If this were twitter, I'd retweet this post.
