Timberwolves @ Portland Game Thread

Welcome to our community

Given that several Wolves had the shooting nights of their careers in this game, I'll gladly take the win.

It's really great to have a real superstar on our team. First since Clyde and I'm Sheed's biggest fan.

Now that he has a capable coach, Telfair is turning into a pretty solid PG.

He certainly had no trouble handling Blake.

Hopefully we come out with a little more intensity against LA!

Did the Blazers' defense help them along with that? We are dead last in the league in that category. I just hope they play a lot better against the Lakers.

When is Oden coming back?

The dif tonight was on the boards, and we limited our fouls.

I think we might have been looking ahead to the Laker game.

7-3 since the All Star break. Undefeated at home including win over Spurs.

Whatever. I'm probably coming off as the resident pessimist, but I simply can't be completely satisfied with a 2 point victory against one of the worst teams in the league.

You can't be a solid anything when you're shooting 35% from the field on the year. Not even close.

Our biggest losing streak this season has been 3 games.

That says a lot for how solid this team will be in the playoffs.

Good job by Nate tonight. He played this like a playoff game should be played. His substitution patterns were excellent.

Unless you bet money, the spread is meaningless. :tsktsk:

Would you be unhappy next year if we go 82-0, but win each game by only 1 point?

"Not completely satisfied" is different from "unhappy." And your argument is simply a strawman.

Minny had lost its last 14 of its last 16 games. The team was missing its best player. And they almost won on our home floor.

As I mentioned before, I'm happy with the win, but not happy with the effort. We should have killed those guys.

It matters if you're discussing how well a team is playing.

Hey, Aldridge had the shooting night of his career too...just in the negative column rather than the positive one.

1-12 vs. the other 8 good western teams on the road. That's the only thing I need to know about their chances in the post season if they don't secure a top 4 seed.

Blazers have one of the best point differentials in the league. Sometimes you just have to be happy with a win...can't blow out everyone, not even every bad team.

One thing to say: Refs
Holy hell, they were terrible tonight.WTF was up with their jump ball fetish?
And my oh my, Bayless was hammered on multiple occasions and no call, then they call him for 3 ticky tack fouls...pssh

Welcome to being a low minute rookie in the NBA :dunno:

The Lakers lost by 17 to the worst team in the league. I'd take our 2 point win over Minnesota over a 17 point loss at the hands of the Kings.

.361 season

.413 last month

.480 last week

:ohno: I see a trend.

Good thing we didn't play them next week.

Boy, those nasty refs must really have a strong personal dislike to discriminate so harshly against an eager young player like Bayless.

At both ends of the court, no less. :sigh:

remember when Portland swept Detroit in the 1989-90 regular season?

STOMP

Now Portland is 8-1 in games decided by three points or less.

please continue to make excuses for the young rook. he was riding the guy each time he got called and the block was a clean one. he's lucky they didn't call him for a T with all the whining he was doing. for a guy that "likes" to play a physical game, he does a lot of looking at the refs with puppy dog eyes. get off your butt and hustle back to play D.

The bit about the horrible road record against the best Western teams is actually worse than it seems. We shouldn't even have that one win, but we were handed a comeback on a silver platter when CPO went out that game. Very lucky we're not 0-13 or whatever.
