Time for Curry to sit.

He missed an entire season with an injury. His struggles might be rust, or they might be a long term loss of athleticism. At the risk of sounding like a cold-blooded bastard, I would rather invest in developing a player who might be here long-term rather than rehabing a guy who won't be.
He can still get to the rim, and stress fractures dont zap athleticism. He'll be fine.

I wonder how benching Turner for Layman would work?
I think we'd need to send him to another team's bench. Otherwise, I have to believe a move like that would upset the team's kumbaya mantra.

Things were working much better earlier in the season when Turner was ONLY playing with the second unit. It has only been recently that Stotts has been playing him with Dame and C.J. at the end of games and he/we have sucked in those situations.

BNM
Yeah my heart sinks and my anxiety spikes when I look up and see Evan Turnover on the court in those situations. Ugh.

Turner is a failed experiment. Cut bait.

This team needs to make a trade. We are getting nothing from our forwards. Aminu, Harkless, and Turner aren't even playing well on defense to justify their offensive ineptitude. Harkless is the only one who has an excuse with working his way back from injury.

This can't continue like this.
What we need is a good Otto Porter thread. Why hasn't he been discussed?

(J/K Bones ;) )

I'm ready for a Seth/Nik/Jake/Zach/Meyers second unit. Not a good defensive unit, I admit, but they wouldn't generally be playing against starting units. Tell them to swarm on defense, crash the boards, and run their asses off on offense.

Evan gives me hives. Send him to Siberia.

Other than the free throws I thought ET played OK last night. The last few years he has shot over 80%. from the line, so I am not too worried about that. But he was far from the biggest problem IMO. Fornier did get hot when he was covering him, but Vucevic, Isaac, Simmons, and Martin were all problems.

Aminu and Hark combined for 2 rebounds, while CJ and Dame combined for 14. That's what can happen when 70 3pt shots are taken in a ball game. Lot of long rebounds. But if those two are not contributing on D, or on the boards, we might as well go with better shooters. Granted Hark only played 13 minutes but none the less he and Aminu starting/playing together will not work.

lol x2

• Seth Curry ranks 6th in defensive rating (minimum 10 games) at 91.7 points allowed/100 possessions. Portland had three bench players in the Top 20 in defensive rating prior to their three-game losing streak. Seth also has the 3rd-best net rating in the NBA at +17.9.
• Seth Curry is shooting an effective field goal percentage of 78 percent, which ranks 4th in the NBA (minimum 10 games), on shots taken without dribbling, which is mostly due to shooting 58 percent from three, which ranks 3rd, without dribbling (which is almost always a catch and shoot).
• Seth Curry is shooting 53 percent on catch and shoot opportunities this year, which ranks 5th (minimum 10 games). Curry averages 1.9 catch and shoot attempts per game, with 1.7 of those coming from behind the three-point line.

He can get to the rim? He has 5 free throw attempts all season. There isn’t a rotation player on the blazers who has gotten to the line less.

Actually, he has struggled. FGA rate at inside 10 feet has been cut in half. I attribute that more to him not having the ball as much, and hes probably still getting his legs back.
