I think Aldridge is a perfectly great second or third option. He just crumbles when he's expected to carry the offensive load.

I'm not ready to say that Babbitt and Cunningham are keepers. I think Johnson has a lot of potential, and Matthews is being paid like he's part of the future. I'm hoping that Matthews gets his game together. He's playing like shit right now.

Duncan is pretty much considered by most "basketball minds" as the best PF of all time. Those who like counting stats might say Malone. Those who like old-school players might say Pettit or Hayes. Those under 21 might say Barkley or KG. But there's not a ton of competition in the minds of most.

I definitely think Duncan is one of the best power forwards of all time, but I don't think he revolutionized the position, and the inner circle should be reserved for guys who revolutionized their positions... Wilt... Jordan.... Magic.

I don't agree that "most basketball minds" have Duncan as the no-doubt greatest PF of all-time or that the only argument for Malone was "counting stats." While he had amazing longevity and durability, he also had fantastic per-season numbers, quite arguably superior to Duncan's. Duncan was the superior team defender. I actually think they're fairly close in terms of man defense, as Malone was underrated on defense but nearly impossible to dislodge by players trying to post up.

I agree that there's not much competition, but I think Malone has at least as good an argument as Duncan. Barkley or Garnett might be considered dark horse candidates.

I think the problem with this team is chemistry. Miller is a very good PG, but is never going to be a good fit with Roy, who needs a more passive PG that can spread the floor with good shooting. Roy is like Kobe - he needs the ball. The Miller experiment is just never going to work - no fault of Miller; KP was desperate to make a deal and Miller was all that was left of the premium FAs, after two others fell through.

Also, Nate is playing Roy too many minutes. You can only last so long playing like that day in and day out.

I just don't think he's done enough. He's a great player on an LA team that has won two championships with his help. I just don't think he sets the league on fire like Garnett did when he was younger, or Duncan, or Malone.

Elgin Baylor was not a power forward. While the forward and guard spots had not been given separate designations back when he played (just guards and forwards, not point guards, shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards), Baylor neither played like what has been come to be known as a power forward nor was he sized like one. He was 6'5'' and he was a high-flying wing. Elgin Baylor was a really, really great player but he belongs in the small forward discussion.
