I agree. With no answer to my question from anyone, I conclude that there is no evidence that she is anyone other than who she says she is. Maxiep had none (as Sly wrote, many students have pre-law or pre-med aspirations despite their school not having a major with that title). The motive of those now laughing at her is simply that they enjoy doing so.
