Here are the officials for the Blazers game tonight. D. Crawford, B. Spooner and L. Wood. I wish I could sub Leon Wood for a different one but the first two I feel should do a great job. Dan Crawford is imo the best ref of them all and Bill Spooner is a local ref so maybe he will help make this a six game series at best.
 
Game Seven's Lineup? Steve Javie, Bennett Salvatore and Violet Palmer.
 
I like Danny Crawford... but Leon Wood? Nooooo! But we aren't playing the Sixers, so that's OK I guess.
 
I'm just wondering when Javie will be in this series. I don't think he's refereed a game yet, and if he does game 6, I predict a Blazers win. From what I've observed over the years, he tends to make more calls for the visiting team.
 
You are right, if we were playing the Sixers we would be in big trouble. I know he worked at least one playoff game so far but I haven't seen his name listed a lot. What sucks is he is working a potentially series ending game and I really don't feel he is that qualified.

Isn't the whole fact that we have to worry about who the officials are rather sad?

Honestly the thought never crosses my mind until I read the thread before each game.
 
Crawford is a good official. I thought Wood was good until game 1 of this series.

My point is - it just goes to show Blazers fans think the only way they can win a game is if the refs are right. Because any other way, they're bound to lose ... because somehow magically every ref in the NBA wants Rockets to win. F the refs, its about the GAME

Easy to say when you're on the winning side of the uneven calls. We win Game 2, and everyone on ClutchFans is bitching about the bad calls and horrible reffing.

We bitched once, ok. Yall just bitch every game, even when your team loses by 27. Freaking ridiculous.... a loss of 27 points blamed on the refs.

EDIT: And in Game 4, Blazers had the lead and blew it because of bad rebounding and turning the ball over in key moments of the game. Refs didn't take the lead from Blazers and hand it to the Rockets, so please - just stop the bitching every game.

now I'm not one who thinks the officials had anything to do with the outcome of any game this series.. but seriously man.. pot, meet kettle. Did you hear your fanbase after game 2? Goodness your fanbase has no room to whine about ref complainers.

Only started after the forumers here complained about a 27 point loss, which is a shame. The only games that you can make an issue out of is would be game 2 and game 3, one went Rockets way - one the Blazers way.

Whats a shame is people who say "they did it first" might as well include an "I am Rubber you are Glue" in there as well. People who bitch about bitching are hypocritical.

They'll still bitch, everyone always finds something to complain about. There might even be some crazy people complaining that Battier should've scored 25 in our Game 5 win against the Blazers. Might be others complaining that a team of Blazers caliber shouldn't even have won a game against Rockets.

I don't think I'm bitching about you're bitching. I just said you should talk about the game and the players and key points of the game, instead of WHO is reffing.

Last time I checked, this was a Blazers forum. Do you see any of us whining over at the Rockets forum? If so, you'd have a legitimate complaint.

But don't expect the refs to decide the game tonight, best hope the Blazers players show up - or they're going home :evilfire:
 
It just speaks volumes about the quality of refereeing in the NBA when you know the game will be called a certain way with one ref and a different way with another ref. I don't doubt that teams look at who is reffing that night, and know the game will be called a certain way.

And it's not like we're the only fanbase who bitches about the officials.

Nobody in here is blaming a 27 point loss on the refs. You might have seen 1 or 2 posters who might have thought that but what you just said is a bunch of crap.

The only game the Blazers won was the only game where the number of foul calls were even close. Game 3 and 4 we lost by a total of 4 points. In every single game we've played we've had between 2 - 4 of our bigs (GO, Joel, LaMarcus, Channing) foul out or end up really close. Meanwhile Yao gets to pitch a tent, building a fire, and make s'mores in the lane and Brandon is getting completely beat up by Battier/Artest and nothing gets called.

One of my keys to the games 3 and 4 was that we had to try and at least stay close in foul calls because the Blazers can't win when the refs are giving the Rockets 15 extra foul shots a game.

Interestingly, you bitched after the one game where we shot more FTs (and only because you fouled for profit at the end. We've bitched after the other games when you've shot more FTs.

A correlation, perhaps? What a douche. Houston fan = fail.

Just tell your boys to stop fouling so damn much, and stop bitching for once. Rockets are a much better playoff team than Blazers, and its starting to show how inexperienced the Blazers are and how the only one to step up is Brandon Roy. The rest of the team just stands there and sets picks and watches.

Sorry guys, officials are doing anything tonight because the better team will win. I know you blazers fans like to blame the officials because you're playing a better team and lose more often than you win, but accept it - Rockets are better :)

i'm pretty sure there have been officals threads before every playoff game and much of the regular season. sometimes it is nice to know who's officiating games because these guys do have reps and make certain calls. you coming in here on a one man mission is quite funny though.
