Top Ten Reasons I hate Kevin Love

Not sure why. But I think Kevin Love has more haters than any basketball player in the NBA. LOL

10.) He's from Lake Oswego, the snob capital of Oregon
9.) He went to Lake Oswego HS, one of two spoiled high schools there
8.) I hate people from, Lake O
7.) He was a UCLA bruin, I hate LA
6.) He's a skilled white guy, and I hate white guys with a little skill that get so much attention just because they can hang in the Black man's NBA.
5.) People think he's Great because he was the All Time Leading scorer in Oregon HS Basketball history while grabbing 17rbs game. Big Deal, there's barely anyone over 6'5" in Oregon! Maybe its cuz were so white!?
4.) The Timberwolves were 20-62 last year, Terrible! and people think you can compare their games, the level of play, to ones with teams that are actually competing for a playoff spot. Sorry there's no comparison. SO much garbage time for K.Love to pad the stats last year and people are all in love with him about it. Must be all the white people looking for an NBA player to like.

1.) He's was even mentioned in the same sentence as LMA

Used to hate him because he's white and slow and was overrated! I actually have mad respect for him now...... can't put up #'s like he does (good team or bad) without having game! He is doing historical things on the court. I admit I was wrong about this cracker.

Irrational hatred for all things LO aside, all the people I know that went to LO high with him think he's a egotistical prick. This is in contrast to Klay Thompson, who is very well loved amongst the same group of people who went to grade school with him and still remain friends today. Love once told a friend of mine who was trying to help him with an assignment that "I don't need to learn this crap anyway because I'm going to the NBA in two years anyway". I know a lot of that "incident" at Mac Court a few years back that was reported on everywhere was based on some personal beef from a lot of people who actually knew and hated him.

This shouldn't be a shocker, but many, in fact, most NBA players are egotistical. Especially those that have been touted since they were freshman in high school.

He would be nice on the Blazers but i'd much rather have a real center like Gortat next to LMA so LMA doesn't have to play out of position and have to make up for loves defensive woes on the other end of the court.

Jealousy does play a part in some peoples hatred, but it's not the reason some people hate him (I personally don't. I think LaMarcus should've made the AST last year, but I don't care anymore). In fact, this year I'm really liking what Kevin Love is doing. He's putting up great #'s on a decent team.

Sometimes people hate someone because they're mad at how their team is playing or a player on their team is playing. Or that player/person is a dumbass. And sometimes it could be that they were personally disrespected by him.

I don't think people here truly HATE him, as much as they don't like him as a player, or feel the amount of publicity that a player gets isn't always on par with their ability. I've never met any NBA player in my life, I have no personal reason to hate any of them. I dislike certain players, but it has nothing to do with jealousy. It has a lot to do with how the NBA forces certain players in our faces and tells us how we're supposed to be impressed by them for their dunking ability, or their freakish jumping ability, etc.

I think it's what magnifier661 and others have said. It's because a player isn't wearing the "Portland" uniform. Nothing more, nothing less. Outside of those who have had personal interactions with him (or another player), it's not that complicated. Sure, jealousy has something to do with it, but I think the top reason is team loyalty. Maybe misguided loyalty, but loyalty none the less.

Kevin Love is a very good player and has been for some time. At the age of 23 years old (only about three months older than Batum) he should continue to improve and has a chance at a HoF career.
