No doubt this has been a rough stretch -- we seem to be catching teams right when they're hot, and just haven't brought our A-game to match. It's disappointing, sure, but I don't think it represents anything more than the obvious: we are a young bunch of players that still hasn't quite figured out how to get into a good flow on the road. In terms of the big picture, we are:
a) Still not an elite team. This is both obvious and nothing to be ashamed of.
b) A work in progress. Yes, we can all find flaws in Nate's decisions using out brilliant Fan-o-Vision, which sees all results and none of the process, but how much is this worth? None among us (AFAIK) are professional basketball coaches. This gives our opinions about the team's direction about as much weight as an average patient's views on open heart surgery.
c) Still healing. Give Oden a season. Please. Just one season.
In all of the recent gloom, I still take heart in a few positives. We've shown a great resiliency, playing hard no matter what the deficit might be. This is incredibly valuable. Greg, while spotty at best in terms of his nightly box scores, has not been injured and is slowly (SLOWLY) starting to resemble the athletic beast we've all been expecting.
It's a fun team. An exciting team. A team with more wins than losses. And a team that was not stolen away to Oklahoma City. For all these things, I am grateful.
