Why would anyone with a brain take on Parsons for a rental like Tyreke Evans? Plz reboot.
Parsons has been good this year and very efficient. Not a fan of his contract but if we could send out Harkless+Leonard or Turner for him and we got Evans as sweetener, I'd definitely take it.

Ok, but why would MEM wanna swap 2 years and $10M of McLemore for 3 years and $30M of Leonard?

It’s more like a 2 year/20m (and whatever amount he’s got left this year) investment at the cost of an expiring and a guy who’s been a bust for them. I’m not sure they would, it was just a thought. Harkless might be another name but he’s worth more than McLemore. If Gasol gets traded and they rebuild, someone like Leonard could get a chance to start, or at least see heavy minutes. There’s enough in his numbers to make an argument that he just needs a consistent role. Even if he busted in Memphis, they could just use his contract as an expiring after next season.

No team wants to invest in Meyers, that's why he's still on the team. They'd make a trade for Nerlens Noel, Willy Hernangomez, etc. before trading for Meyers.

Is that why those guys are still on their teams?

Say what now? He’s not even playing. Turner is better.
Per 36:
Player A: 15.2ppg, 5rpg, 3.5apg, 1.9TOV, 49FG%, 41FG3%
Player B: 11.6ppg, 5rpg, 3.2apg, 2.0TOV, 46FG%, 30FG3%

You think player B is better than player A?

I'd rather have someone play sometimes and help their team than someone play all the time who doesn't. Turner doesn't help us win games. Parsons would.

And I’d rather have the guy that won’t be retired by the end of his contract.

Using per 36 for Parsons is a little egarigous as he isn't likely sniff 36 minutes in a game from here out in his career. And certainly not regularly.

Games played the last 2 years:
Player A - 60 games @ $24M per year.
Player B - 106 games @ $17M per year.

Ahhh, the often overlooked games played stat. Probably one of the most important when looking at potential trades for any player. A player loaded with talent sitting on the bench in a suit isn't very productive. Players get injured..it's the year after year injuries that move them to the NO! column.

This would be an Olshey special. This is someone I’ve wanted to take a chance on for awhile. I know his numbers are whatever, but this would be the definition of buying low. His shooting percentages when playing 20+ minutes last season were very impressive.

McLemore and Brendan Wright’s expiring for Leonard(Or Moe) and Layman works financially.

Goodness please no. He's a bust IMO.

MFs are actually considering trading for Parsons because he's better than Turner?

His contract is just as bad and he shouldn't be the target.

It's only Bones who is arguing that Parsons is better than Turner for the Blazers.

I think ALMOST everyone would agree that Parsons is the better player, but his contract (and thus fit) is worse for the Blazers currently.

There are tons of players that could give us Parsons' production for half the cost, or less.

Of course, you could also say the same about Turner.

Trading one of the worst contracts from the summer of 2016 for another seems pointless. It feels a lot like doubling down on a bad bet.

BNM

Parsons will be out of the league (retirement due to his injury issues) before Turner retires. So unless you see the NBA doing another amnesty provision (and I don't) then you stay far, FAR away from him.

What would it actually take to get Randle? Lakers need cap space, so I doubt they’d want to take on any salary. Would Davis and a first be enough?

Jabari Parker’s target return date is the week before the all star break. That’s pretty convenient considering that’s right before the trade deadline as well. I still think he should be our main target.

I haven't read the whole thing. Is the most common prediction disappointment?

That's my prediction

There are too many factors for there not be activity with Portland. I guess disappointment depends on your expectation. I’m not expecting Neil to blow it up in the next month, but I do expect at least two players to be moved. Getting under the tax will definitely be a priority.

I’m gonna say that Mirotic ends up in OKC. Carmelo and PG3 were not rumored to go there and suddenly did, so I’m calling it first.

And what will you do with him in the summer?

Awful idea. Pay an injury prone F who doesn't defend and has only shown he can score on a high level for a half of a season before his 2nd ACL tear...

Parker was well on his way to being a star in this league last year. If you can sign him for cheap because of his injury history and he plays to or above the level he did last year it could be one of the best deals in the league.

Remember, Westbrook has had three knee surgeries and Curry has had over 3 surgeries on his right ankle alone.
