The Big 3 gone in one trade would win NO executive of the yearsubtract Swanigan and add Meyers Leonard and you're on to something
Oooh I like Hernangomez. He's probably just as good as Nurk, just underused. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.

I have no idea. I really like him though l.Really? I've never seen him play but if that's the case, why would NY want to get rid of him?
Yeah it’s not that complicated but some still can’t figure it out.
Collins will never be a full time center in the NBA. That’s not a knock, he just has traits that need to be taken advantage of elsewhere. Eventually he can play center against certain teams, but he’ll always be best utilized at power forward. You don’t stick a guy that provides his defensive versatility at center. Look at Anthony Davis. When you have a seven footer with that kind of agility and shot making ability, you create a lot more mismatches at PF. stick him at center, and yeah, he’ll be quicker than most, but he’ll also often be overpowered. Even after he gets bigger, does anyone actually see him banging with a Demarcus Cousins? I don’t, but maybe that’s just me.
I disagree. I think after Collins adds some muscle he’s the perfect 5 in today’s NBA. Look what all the high level teams are doing in the playoffs... they barely play their true big men. Houston plays a 6’9 Capela, GSW barely plays Pachulia, Tristan Thompson was completely taken out of the GSW series, Boston plays a 6’10 Horford who’s 20 lbs lighter than Nurkic. Even the Wizards are purposely hiding their lineup of Morris at the 5 to try and surprise people in the playoffs.
Imagine having a Collins at the 5 who is just as quick as those others mentioned but has 2-4 inches on all of them. I think you need a true big man on your roster for matchup reasons throughout the season but when it comes time to the playoffs those guys are the first to be exploited if their getting starter minutes. Its another reason why I’m hesitant to sign Nurkic to any lucrative deal, or trade for DJ for that matter. Unless you have a traditional big man who is truly elite (Boogie) or a guy like Adams who has a very specific role (Nurks ideal scenario), you need a guy like Collins to really compete. I think with 10-15 lbs of added muscle Collins could be the perfect
5 for today’s NBA, especially in the playoffs.
Okay? I'm not using any emotion. I'm using fact and logic. He's a perceived star because he used to be one, but no longer plays at the level of one, yet fans haven't caught on.
Won't be close this year, as his position has gotten better while he's gotten worse. His defense has taken a HUGE step back this year, and I mean HUGE. I can being stats into this of you're too lazy to do the research. His FG% is good, but thats because he only shoots within 3 feet. A good finisher at the rim doesn't make him a good offensive player. Get past the name. Get past his previous production and see the decline that's already happening.
Right now, he's an above average but not great defender and an average offensive C (His FT%... yikes). Athleticism is the first thing to decline, and thats what his entire game is based off of.
So he's only going to get worse but will still command at least 3 years at $25M a year. In one or two years, he'll be no better than Tristan Thompson, while having $50-$75M remaining his contract.
You list Capela, but that’s one guy. There are way too many good “traditional” centers in the nba today.
Boogie
Embiid
Drummond
Gasol
Whiteside
Jordan
Jokic
Adams
Vucevic
Valanciunas
Gobert
Gortat
Nurk can and has banged against all of them. I just don’t see Collins as that type of player. He’s a PF ala Davis to me. Agree to disagree I guess.
If only.If only Nurkic was a good finisher at the rim...
If only Nurkic was a good finisher at the rim...
Rolo wasn't at Nurk's age....people act like he's a 10 year vet but he's a work in progress...all the skills are there..his defense is like Przybilla and he shoots better already than Joel ever did...I don't have big complaints about him..he needs to be in better shape and hone his timing with his layups...all coachable stuff. Nurk looks like he's still growing to me.If only Nurkic was a good finisher at the rim...
I don't see soft...I see rushed timing...It’s really hard to finish at the rim consistently when you are SOFT.

Not that desperate, but I'd definitely look into Meyers and Harkless for Noah and the right to swap 1sts with them.Knicks Increasing Efforts To Trade Joakim Noah
January 26th, 2018 at 12:36pm CST by Luke Adams
Joakim Noah is currently away from the Knicks for what the team is calling “personal reasons,” and sources tell Marc Berman of The New York Post that the veteran center is unhappy with his situation in New York. As a result, the Knicks have “ramped up” their efforts to trade Noah, reports Berman, citing a source.
Noah, like fellow center Willy Hernangomez, has seen his role reduced this season due to the Knicks’ frontcourt logjam. Enes Kanter and Kyle O’Quinn have been the team’s primary centers for most of the 2017/18 campaign.
With O’Quinn and Kristaps Porzingis sidelined on Tuesday against Golden State, Noah had been hoping to see increased minutes. However, he only played sparingly in garbage time and was “visibly upset” after the game, according to Berman, who suggests that the incident may have triggered Noah’s departure from the team. Berman adds that the veteran center might not rejoin the Knicks until next Thursday.
While a trade may be a preferred outcome for both the Knicks and Noah, it’s hard to imagine the team finding a trade partner willing to take on the big man’s massive contract. Noah, who has a cap hit of $17.765MM for 2017/18, will still have two years and about $37.83MM in guaranteed money left on his deal after this season.
In previous trade talks, the only way the Knicks could get another team to consider taking on Noah was by attaching their 2018 first-round pick, according to Berman. New York’s front office is very much against giving up that first-rounder, which looks increasingly likely to be a lottery selection, so a Noah deal appears to be a long shot. Nonetheless, the Knicks plan to ask teams around the NBA about the idea as the trade deadline nears, says Berman.
OK, NY, how desperate are you? You've shown interest in Harkless:

We get a 1st rounder...
This is just stupid slander. Nothing about Nurkic is soft. Watch how he plays other top centers. He has no problem with physicality. He just finesseses when he doesn’t have to. It’s not out of fear.I’ve mentioned this before, but all his struggles are against smaller guys.

AGREEDI liked your post, but the flopping is soft bro. No way around that.
We'd basically be signing him and trading out salary via S&T in order to make it happen. The salary would go to a 3rd team with picks going to GSW. I literally explained it in the post you quoted.Wait, what? What would we be giving up for Klay? And how would we afford it
