A Dame - Bradley backcourt could be a perfect combination.

Questions:
1. How can we get him?
2. Is CJ on his way out if we trade for Bradley ? The 3 could probably not coexist in my opinion.

Would you do it?

Also adds $5.5 million to our payroll this year. If we could also convince DET to take Moe (possibly) or Meyers (unlikely) it would get us under the tax threshold this season.

We can replace Bazz with him and continue to have the 3 guard rotation.

Something like Bazz, Noah and Meyers for Bradley and Boban works.

This of course gets us Boban which makes the board very happy.

I'd trade anyone outside of Dame/CJ/Nurk/Collins for Bradley! I assume that, if both parties agree, we'd be able to re-sign Bradley despite being near/over the cap?

Intrigued by the Collins/Drummond pair inside. Définitely worth a thought. With Moe it's maybe better.

What about you?

I'll have to think about it more, but I probably would. In the past, Drummond's FT shooting would have scared me away. I mean seriously, .386 FT%??? You can't even put a guy like that on the floor in the 4th quarter of a close game. But, he's up to .625 this year on the same number of attempts. He's once again, leading the league in rebounding, which I value. And, still only 24.

Bradley is having a down year, but I think he'd be fine in Stotts' system and his perimeter defense is elite. Just put him on the opponent's best guard, whether it's a SG or a PG.

If they would take Meyers, I'd definitely do it. If they would take Moe, probably.

I don't see any chance of Detroit including Drummond in any trades, even if they get a guy like Nurkic in return. I'm sure he's an untouchable.

There were rumors at the deadline last year that Drummond was supposedly available and again last summer. Centers just don't have the same impact on the game as they used to. Look at NOP. They had, arguably, the TWO best big men in the game and were skating along just barely above .500 when Cousins went down. There isn't a single top team built around a dominant center.

And, the proposed trade wasn't just a swap of Drummond for Nurkic. The Pistons would also be getting C.J. McCollum, who would have a legitimate shot at being an all star in the East, especially if he was the No. 1 scoring option on his team, which he would be in DET.

Drummond and C.J. basically make the same salary. Perhaps DET feels, in today's NBA they are better spending that $23 million on an elite shooting guard instead of an offensively challenged center.

Bradley has been a bad fit for them and they don't want to overpay to keep him. They are going to move him now or lose him for nothing come July. So, A Drummond/Bradley for McCollum/Nurkic makes quite a bit of sense for both teams. Nurk and Bradley will probably receive comparable contracts this summer, with Bradley perhaps getting a slightly bigger contract than Nurk.

This trade would let them swap a max contract center for a max contract guard. They will also move a player they don't want to pay for a solid, young, defensive center that will probably end up making about $10 million less a year than Drummond.

For POR, it eliminates any redundancy/duplication in the backcourt, improves our defense and lets us avoid the risk of anyone offering Nurk stupid money this summer. Of course, we assume the same risk WRT to Bradley, but at least we end up with a better balanced roster.

We still need to address our glaring hole at SF, but for now we'd be looking at:

Dame
Bradley
Turner
Aminu
Drummond

We'd suddenly have one of the best defensive starting units in the entire league. Quite the transformation from where we were at this time last year when we were one of the worst.

remember when I called you my friend... well youre not anymore!

I even suggested you for the new mod for fucks sake... man I really suck at judging people

Im not judging Nurk as a person, I judge him as a player, two very different things

In this case we should not keep Nurk, since the NBA will clearly close the loophole of players who are not persons. What next, SlyPokerPlayer?

Nothing personal. Just trying to improve the team. Honestly, I'd miss C.J. more than Nurk, but in both cases you need to give up something to get something.
