Georgiev should be a lesson to Drury. We waited WAY too long, and now his value is down, and we won't get a lot for him unless he is part of a larger package.
If the Canucks hold onto Miller, so be it, but the point still stands 100%. Be it Miller, or some other big player, we need to be the biggest big game hunters at the trade deadline, period. Our needs are so clear, a middle 6 forward and a vet LD, and we need to be all in to fill those needs. We have so many prospects and picks to deal from, and we'd still be very rich young asset wise.
The clock is ticking. Salaries going up, kids being signed to longer bigger money extensions, cannot keep them altogether, other kids will be gone with no place to play here. Really, enough is enough and we have to pull the trigger this year to make our move. If Drury doesn't it really is a shame and a major missed opportunity as we are tighter against the cap starting next season.
This team has done all you can ask for, now Drury needs to reward their play with a strong trade deadline. I'd love to add a player with an extra year at a reasonable AAV like Miller, but we'll see what Drury can and does do. Deadline 3 weeks from today.
