totally agree, and frankly I wonder how many firsts they really want, they already have two good ones this year, teams usually don't want too many picks the same year. I would think they would want a young guy or two to take a shot at to develop who they can let go after next yr if it does not work out, Meyers or Trob fit that bill but WTFDIK

They will probably become more amicable as we draw nearer to the deadline.

Realistically, what could we offer for the Manimal? We desperately need bench help.

It's hard to imagination the blazers adding a useful player with the chips they have to work with.

the more I think about this it is likely just another Morey rumor to try to stir the pot and renew some interest is Asik

Morey is one of the most overrated GM's in the league. I swear, he's really not that good. He completely lucked out in his trade for Harden and his signing of Dwight. He inked Lin to that big deal, which was silly. Now he thinks he has more leverage than he does with Asik.

A rumor I saw with NO good source

"Morey is looking to get a pick to put together a Rondo package apparently."

He isn't going to get one. Asik is his only trade chip and that trade chip isn't going to get him a first rounder. Maybe someone like Jones, but even then I doubt it.

It would appear the one thing that might nudge Utah towards giving serious thought to dealing Hayward, would be if the Celtics were willing to part with at least one of their stockpiled first-round picks. But two league sources, both having had recent conversations with the Celtics, told CSNNE.com on Tuesday that Boston is "very reluctant" to part with any of their first-round picks in facilitating a deal

Man it must be tough to get a first round pick these days. Celtics have a few and won't part with one for Hayward? 76ers looking for a first round pick for some quality players and can't seem to get one?

My theory with the new CBA is having a good player on a rookie contract is as valuable (if not more) as giving a big contract to a very good FA. The formula I see go forward is spending almost all your money on 2-3 players and fill in the rest with low contract players or players on rookie contracts.

It's been quiet on the trade front. A little too quiet.

Quiet is one thing but this is ridiculous. Teams must REALLY think this coming Draft is incredible and also want as much cap flexibility as possible. Don't make a trade just to make one but there are a lot of teams with a number of issues to address...and Portland is certainly one of those.

Nico, crabbe and Claver for Turner and Hawes.

Didn't you just get done saying no trades are best for this team? Make up your mind.

Just none of the trades you have proposed... you will notice I didn't include Mo, CJ, Robinson or Leonard.

More Jarrett Jack chatter and a couple of teams trying to see what the Celtics want for Rajon Rando.

Lakers trying to make some move for cap reasons even if it's a small one.

Miller likely to go somewhere and has a non-guaranteed contract for next year so could help a playoff team with no cap ramifications for next year.

And Hawes... yes

Of course they are all untouchable. Kind of like how Elliot Williams was.

More to the point rather than saying yes it's more accurate to say I would consider it.

I agree...they are all untouchable. We are #5 in the West. All our players are untouchable so stop even considering any moves. Is it time for Green font?

Portland open to trading for anyone over 6'9" at this point.... :sigh:
