In a word, no. But that's never how it works..

It would depend on the offer- I mean if they were giving him up for Plumlee and scraps... sure you'd be dumb not to make that deal. But the Simmons podcast stated straight up for CJ- to me you're eliminating a creator and you're not helping with any defensive issues- he's beyond overrated there (watch the finals replays and you see Love being exploited all night long- or not b/c he wasn't out there, or watch the replay from last week and the Vines of him being abused- take your pick). He has had some rather big injuries- twice breaking his hand and then there's the shoulder (thanks Kelly!) plus a couple of other nagging back injuries. Considering PDX history with injuries and bigs... nah.
The positives here- you've got a "star" locked up on a cheaper deal under the current CBA as opposed to what CJ will get, and he's on par with the Dame timeline. He also fits the Stottsfense of having a big away from the rim. Typically when you trade big for small- the one getting the big ends up winning... which is why it doesn't usually happen- however, just like the Love for Wiggins deal, I feel like the one who takes Love loses.

I really like the trade scenario and going after Whiteside. I wish therer was a way to substitute Alexander for Vonleh though..Im really liking the small improvements im seeing in his game. His Defense is solid and I think he has the potential to be a 17/8 type of guy off the bench, or a 20/10 as a starter (this is peak, mind you)

Could we sub Vonleh for For Plumlee, Keep VOnleh as the backup PF and Davis as the backup C?

This gets my fancy just a weeee bit more.
