Travis for Jason Maxiell? Would that be reasonable?

A bit expensive I would think given he is set to get $20 mil over the next 4 years. For a guy that is going to get 10-15 mpg, I wouldn't really want to pay more than $3 mil per. Now, if Joel really will be opting out after this season as many throw out as rumor, then Portland should look at a 4-5 tweener that does cost what Maxiel does. Travis is the player I would like to see be traded for a banger PF.

Good stuff.

That said (re: Joel potentially opting out), would you do a "blockbuster" such as Travis, Joel, and Bayless for Prince and Maxiell (and a pick?)? Or such?

I'd do TO for Landry. He's similar to Maxiell, and is owed a lot less money.

And I think Houston would give the idea some serious thought.

I re-thought that. I don't like it.....................at all.

I haven't yet had my morning java. Time to go take care of that task,

Yes to that please. Houston may want some offense. Because right now, their team is full of mostly defensive role-players. We've seen how tough they are without Yao, but I don't know if they'll look quite so good for an entire season.

I know you don't like your previous idea, but I would like to say that I think the luster may be off of Prince. Now that the team is not good he looks and performs below average. To me, he seems to have been a system guy. At this point I want Batum to get the minutes to become our Prince.

That's a tough one. It leaves us with no future PG, and I am not THAT high on Prince these days. Travis, Joel and Martell for Prince and Maxiell I'd do in a heartbeat, but no way Dumars goes for that. In fact, I don't think he would go for the one with Bayless either... he seems to like his players a lot.

Travis for Maxiell I'm sure they wouldn't do...

As of right now, this is their big man rotation:

Wilcox/Kwame
Villanueva/Maxiell

Kwame is crap and Wilcox just had a down year... they'd become awfully thin up front, so I think Przybilla would have to be in the deal, but then of course we wouldn't do it without getting back something else we need.

Another one I'd consider but Dumars would probably laugh at it: Joel, Travis and Bayless for Maxiell and Stuckey. I'm not crazy about Stuckey but he's more proven than Bayless, although I actually think Bayless could get where he is pretty fast.

Good stuff.

in a heart beat.

How about this trade for a Backup PF:

Portland out: Travis Outlaw, Jerryd Bayless

Portland in: Shane Battier, Carl Landry

Golden State out: Brendan Wright, Ronny Turiaf and Anthony Morrow

Golden State in
: Jerryd Bayless, Travis Outlaw (small run and gun PF can get a shot off if the quick offense doesn't work)

Houston out: Shane Battier, Carl Landry

Houston in: Ronny Turiaf, Anthony Morrow, Brendan Wright.

Houston gets a 6 foot 10 center to man the post long enough for either Yao's injury to heal or until they can find a replacement. They also get a young SG in Anthony Morrow to take over for T-Mac, a young SF in Wright to back up Ariza and replace Battier.

Golden State gets a PF who would work well in Nellie's system of run and gun (Outlaw) and a fast breaking PG/SG in Bayless who can score and be a great back court mate to back up Ellis and be paired with Curry.

Portland gets this lineup:

PG: Miller/Blake
SG: Roy/Rudy
SF: Battier/Batum
PF: LMA/Landry
C: Oden/Przybilla

That looks pretty dang nice. Down the road you can make another trade to get your young PG prospect especially with your stacked front court.

There's your PF Landry in a trade. Houston has a shite-load of PF's and SF's.

I would prefer a Travis for Ronnie Turiaf deal if we could swing it.

You could also trade Golden state directly for Turiaf and Wright by trading Outlaw and Bayless

PG: Miller/Blake
SG: Roy/Rudy
SF: Batum/Wright
PF: LMA/Turiaf
C: Oden/Przybilla

not bad either. I like the first one better though. You also have to figure out how you pick up a young PG down the road. I think we may have that problem regardless of whether we keep Bayless.

P.S. By the way this...

Now, if Joel really will be opting out after this season as many throw out as rumor, then Portland should look at a 4-5 tweener that does cost what Maxiel does.

...is why I am often trading Joel in fantasy trades.
