Neil talking up Norm and for the first time ever minimizing CJ's role in the presser after firing Stotts was telling. The fact that Dame hasn't been talking about CJ is extremely telling. It's obvious that the ship has sailed on the idea that Dame and CJ are the cornerstone of this team. If CJ isn't part of that, then he's got to go because he's being paid like he is.

I think the Haynes stuff is posturing and I am hoping that not only has Neil realized that CJ isn't the second star next to Dame that will help him win a chip but that Neil has also become more realistic about CJ's value overall because if he hasn't how can a trade happen? If Neil calls every GM in the league shopping CJ but wants return on CJ to be the same as an all nba player then there won't be a trade.

So despite the fact that I think Neil now thinks that CJ has to be moved for a more complementary piece, I still think Neil's pride could fuck this thing up.

Ben is younger and has more athletic gifts so he'll be perceived by most to have more value and therefore we would be required to add a pick or picks or Ant or Nas. Neil may not be of the mindset that Ben's youth and athleticism make a difference when the numbers you just posted paint a story of parity. So that could be the hold up.

I do hope Neil just gives as many picks as needed and makes the deal happen.

cant believe I did this but I did a little digging. Couldn’t find that specific pic, but I found this. Looks like the same sneakers, arm sleeve, etc.

it’s easy to have an advantage in true shooting percentage when you don’t shoot.
 
You had some good points Bones. We do need JJ to opt-in.

I always liked Clarke. I think he can take a huge step in a young Millsap way. I would love to get Jaren Jackson from Memphis instead-but Memphis would be stupid to give him up which is why I guess you suggested Clarke might be avaialbe.....but what would it take?

Not sure. They probably would want more than 2nds unfortunately.

I FULLY ENDORSE THIS IDEA



...although it looks like he'll be gone by the early 20s. Almost universally regarded as the best defender in the draft RIGHT NOW. Also he's on display against the best players in the world because he's on Spain's Olympic Team (about the only young player)

sounds like a pure guess from Haynes.
 
Now to Piggy back on a previous post from the Dame trade thread maybe the Blazers and Pels are talking about trading CJ for Ingram -- not saying straight up just the main pieces that would get me excited but i know prolly a pipe dream but one can hope.

I was thinking this deal

CJ and Little and a protected Top 15 pick FOR Ingram and W. Gabriel and throw in a 2nd round pick --

Since Collins is prolly gone I would LOVE to bring back Gabriel who showed he could hustle and do the LITTLE things this team needs -- the smaller pieces are fluid but I think this is a good trade for both teams
 
Great post Bro. I despise posting on that other thread, and WISH like most, it was vaporized. But the Trolls keep shwingin' off it. So i like to garbage their crap post up with returned fermenting garbage.

Garuba looks decent. I think Nas has more upside.

I tend to believe Olshey is a terrible GM, but that really stretches the boundaries. Sure, history certainly suggests that Olshey would be loathe to trade CJ. He probably hasn't given up on the notion of building a contender around Dame/CJ either

but he's boxed into a corner and this could be simply strategic leaking to obscure intentions

however, if it does come out that Portland could have traded CJ for Simmons but Olshey refused....yikes!
 
Raptors like Scottie Barnes and have interest in either grabbing him at #4 or trading down.

Perfect time to make a pitch for OG Anunoby.

Can't wait to see if this tweet comes out. Both fanbases collectively holding their breaths for a few minutes waiting to see if Dame or CJ is the centerpiece on the other side.
 
Ok i went to Woj twitter and this tweet is NO WHERE to be found so either he deleted it for various reasons ( bad info etc ) or even though looks legit fake as a 3 dollar bill
 
LOL your right -- did not look at that part since that part is not faked as much was too busy looking at the address and such

Usually I spot those type of things but since it could happen maybe I was so quick to accept without looking even closer to the other things too
 
When do people think the first major deal will go down? Schroder trade happened 3 days before the draft last year.

I suppose they want to put him next to OG and not replace him with Barnes. Trading away Anunoby seems crazy for a rebuilding team.

yup if anything, that move could signal a precursor to trading Siakam.

I'm guessing Pascal and Lowry are gone in a few weeks.
