does this framework (picks yet to be included) make sense? Raptors have a glut of 3/4 swing dudes and only Boucher as their C (who yet again, got injured). Plus we now have a history of trading our FAs to Toronto (albeit without bird rights this time). I'd much rather have Simmons, but this is intriguing to me.

There's no way toronto would trade OG for Nurk.

Ya, that's the obvious hang up here. I dunno if a pick would sway them.

Hard to trade an injury prone player on the last year of his contract for value.
Maybe to Charlotte?

I do think we could find a trade partner if we put Nurk on the block but that doesn't need to be done. As he showed last night he is capable of and probably going to space the court in the same way Brook Lopez does for the Bucks (he'll shoot 4 a game and make one or two keeping defenses from leaving him when he drifts outside). That actually makes it so he could definitely coexist with Simmons. So again, if that trade can be made (CJ+ for Simmons) then that is the trade to make.

The post you responded to didn't say anything about Simmons; it was regarding Sabonis and Nurk.

I'm pretty sure you are right and we would be selling low on Nurk.

Just thinking out loud here - but Indy also has a player whose value has cratered due to injuries. They take on Nurk for a one year audition, we take on TJ Warren??? Big gamble!

Right Sabonis and Nurk would never work but Simmons was in the proposed trade being discussed, so I thought why not bypass a whole lot of the moving pieces and just bring Simmons here.

Can we wait with this trading Nurk till, maybe, December?

I would like to see us try to get Myles Turner. He’s not being used as much this year. Would be much better than Nurk.

If you just have trade ideas that you're pitching, regardless of what player they're for, you can just post them here. If you making a thread that's about discussions regarding trading a player and whether it would be prudent then that's probably worth a thread but starting threads just for trade ideas for RoCo or just for trade ideas for RoCo and Nurk seems kind of absurd.

Mods you can feel free to merge those other trade idea threads with this one.

I’m sick of seeing Nurks whine face every time he’s called for a foul, usually 3-4 times in the first half. If you can flip him for value do it, highly unlikely he resigns here for any reasonable contract.

If there is a way that we can come up with Grant and Turner for CJ, RoCo and Nurk, that would be transformative for our franchise. I think this trade could actually get done. I happen to think that RoCo still has a lot of value around the league. So if Indy is looking to retool their roster instead of rebuilding completely, I think CJ and RoCo would be good for them. Giving up Ant would probably be necessary to get Grant. LeVert has shown throughout his career that he is capable of running the point and playing the three. They're two separate trades.

Not sure why Indy would trade Turner now? he's dirt cheap for two years?

Well, CJ is a great scorer and would fit really well in a back court with a Brogdon, RoCo could start at PF for them, moving Sabonis to the 5, with Brogdon and CJ freeing up Sabonis to do his thing and like us they haven't been successful with their roster as constructed and should be willing to shake it up.

Id love to get Turner if possible.

I’d love to trade him. But he sweats the fuck outta Dame and would come back if offered reasonably

bro this thread was buried when i created the roco thread. http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/roco-trade-ideas.371374/

happy for it to be consolidated, though.

today's thread.... i dunno about that one.

They are high on Duarte and he's a SG.

Yeah, again they are struggling. If they value what CJ can bring to them and how Duarte could fit in a three guard rotation with CJ and Brogdon then I could see this working. CJ is just a far more potent scorer than anyone else they have on the team. If they want to rip the whole thing down then I could see them featuring Duarte more with a bunch of other young guys. If they still want to try and build a winner around Sabonis and Brogdon then I could see them liking this deal. I would actually throw in a first to make it work if it was close for them and that would push them over the finish line. All of this only works for me if we could turn Nurk and Ant into Grant and Garza (for some depth at C).

Man Nas is so underrated. You’ve got Atlanta out here asking for a first round pick for Reddish when he isn’t even better than Nas (don’t get me confused though, I would love to have Reddish)

Just shows how fanbases and even teams tend to over or under value their own assets.

Knicks trade 2 picks that aren't their own for CJ. Boston trades a prospect for a solid 3&D wing. OKC gets a 2nd to take on salary. We get a pick this year and next, and 2 prospects in Nesmith and Toppin to take a look at. Get well under the tax. Create a 10ish million dollar TPE, and if we guarantee Hermangomez for next year, would also be able to combine him and Kemba over the summer as 16ish million in expiring salaries.

Lol i did the exact comp this morning when suggesting Reddish trades. Nas is better across the board. We better not trade him

Nicely done, this is a trade that actually seems plausible and I'd do it if I were Portland. Well constructed.

Well they can always ask, but real price is what the others are offering.
