Of course if the Faried trade is on the table you take it.

I still like the Bayless, 26, and rights to Bolden trade first then trade Bayless and 24 for 17 and Dellavedova so we'd have 17 and 26. That is if the Faried thing doesn't work out.

Well I’d do that since 17 and 26 probably gets us somewhere into the lottery.

How exactly is DeRozan better than CJ? That would be the very definition of lateral move. And he's older and I believe more expensive, too.

I think he's better at every single facet of the game other than long range shooting. Getting to the rack, drawing fouls, playing above the rim, excelling in the open court, defense (length, both CJ and him are bad at it though), and generally getting easy buckets.

I think Faried brings a big ego for someone who ultimately hurts spacing and while he makes some flashy defensive plays isn’t a very solid defender. If the Blazers move up I hope it’s in the 8-12 range.
Faried is an undersized Ed Davis with a slightly more well-rounded game. The only thing Davis has over Faried is a firm understanding of what his role is on the court (which is HUGELY important...but not so huge that he's all that important to our success).
I say this as someone who likes Ed - but also as someone who thinks he's pretty overrated by a lot of Blazers fans.

Huh. Well, to each their own. But CJ excels at scoring the ball in nearly every conceivable way, aside from drawing fouls. He has one of the league's best handles, and has a much better shot than DeRozan. Put him in a decent offensive system and he'd be even better. Shit, put him in a shitty system in the East and he'd be much better. Put DeRozan in Terry's system and he's gonna Evan Turner.

I don’t think he’s over rated, I see him as a very solid back up center, who can rebound, and be solid defensively. He has almost no offense to speak of. What part of that is over rating him?

You may not overrate him personally, but that doesn't mean he's not overrated by others. Many have said he deserves Meyers Leonard money, or that he should be a 6MOY candidate. These would be statements that overrate him.

I heard Wizards rumored as one of the teams interested in Nurkic. They can’t offer him more than MLE because they are in cap hell, however we could do a sign and trade deal that would facilitate this move.

Would you do Otto Porter for Nurkic in a sign and trade? Nurk is probably going to make much less than him so it would save Washington some money and we would get a competent wing that could help our scoring, albeit a very expensive one.
I see you posted this last Friday, but my question is, do they have a pick they could throw in?

EDIT: Ok, nevermind. Should have kept reading ;)

I'm so behind ;)

Someone will pay him Meyers Leonard money...

I agree with your assessment. But I think some people overrate his defense.
To me he is the anti-Aminu: Ed is very smart in knowing his limitations and playing to his strengths.

Ed Davis is the type of player that you don't realize his value until he is gone.

In that case, let him walk.
Personally I think we will overpay him (as in, we will just give him a nice contract offer rather than letting the market set his price), but still come in under Meyers' contract. I'll be shocked if another team offers him $9M.

I guess but 10m a year isn’t that outrageous for a rotation player in today’s market. I’d love to keep him around for 6-7m but I kind of don’t think that’ll be an option.

I’d be SHOCKED if Davis got anything more than the equivalent of the MLE. The teams with cap space for the most part are non playoff teams, they’re not going to spend their money on role players like Davis.

I fear Neil is going to "bid against himself" - otherwise, I agree.

Maybe we could send Aminu out and save our TPE?
MIL Gets: #26, Aminu, Swanigan
PHI Gets: Cash
DEN Gets: #17, Bayless
POR Gets: #14, Dellavedova, Faried*

Then we could use #14 and #24 to try to move up?

I think Neil values Aminu more than that.

Thanks that was exactly my point. Your trade proposal has less chance of happening than a 100% zero thing.
Actually Lebron coming to pdx is the more of the unlikely scenarios but believe what you like. I would actually go as far to say it’s probabally the single most unlikely thing to happen in the offseason.

Lmao.

Stop.

They're not splitting up their big 4 this off-season. Theorize in the realistic.
You’re right, it’s much more fun to fantasize about blockbusters that could net us the great George Hill or other SCRUBS like that. Roster deconstruction, it’s time. Unless you enjoy reliving the same weak sister playoff runs year after year??

Draymond isn't getting traded, especially here...

Haha. George Hill would make us a better team. Its better to consider options of things that could actually happen then things that cant. Dont get mad at me because you're being insanely unrealistic.

I don’t give a shit about all these washed up bench vets everyone likes to type 1000 words about.

Real franchises trade for stars or future stars. We are talking about more bench pieces. Guess what, the bench wasn’t the problem in the playoffs, it was our “stars”

Mic Drop

George Hill would not of made one fucking difference in the playoffs, not one. We don’t even lose 4-1 with him. Gtfo

Actually my whole point was that neither your trade proposal nor LeBron coming here have any chance of happening. Why would GS want Nurk and the 24th pick? Don't post a stupid trade and then put down other people's realistic ones.

Don’t tell me what to do.

Dude, what is your deal? Everyone here would want to acquire a star or a future star but until you actually present a realistic way to get one it's really lame to just say that like it means something.
