My "guess" is he would not mind coming to Portland, good rep as a place to play, made WCF last yr and much better than Sac, great team leader in Dame, plus he gets plenty of minutes as we badly need good front ct help
Not sure, that's all just a guess. I know at one point last summer he was thinking about just going back overseas.

Thanks, also, fuck.
IF we were able to sign Kanter to the Tax-MLE (or whatever free agent) and retain Hood for the max allowed of $4.15 million (I know big IF), then we could go over the tax apron as much as we wanted to though. So it's best to avoid using the Full-MLE unless trades cleared more than just a couple million off our salary number.

POR: Derrick Favors

MEM: Evan Turner, Dante Exum, Grayson Allen, 23, and 25

UTH: Mike Conley

That is interesting. Favors could be our center until Nurk returns and makes Kanter not important to re-sign. We could maybe flip him at the deadline too if Nurk was healthy.

I'd still be mad if Bazley is available at 25 and turns into a good player though!

We could still buy a 2nd rounder

Not one high enough to get Bazley and besides last year the cost was a lot greater than cash to get 2nd rounders. There was only one pick last year that was traded for cash and that was pick #52. All other 2nd round trades the cost was at least two 2nd round picks. There were 5 trades like that.

I guess if he only played center for us it would work. His 21 % three point shooting is not a good fit at PF these days.

Yeah, I think he's a horrible fit at PF on our team. It's weird that he's only 27, he plays like he's much older than that.

Favors is a center. His best numbers have always been with him at center. He has the size and skillset of a modern day center. He plays PF because the Jazz have a better center and no real PF options (although they played better for most of the year with Crowder at PF instead of Favors).

Yeah, that's what my point was.

POR: Otto Porter Jr

HOU: Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Kris Dunn

CHI: Chris Paul, #25, Houston 2021 first round pick.

So, I'm not the only Blazers Homer on the boards. No way does Houston do that.
They want Paul gone and Paul wants to leave. Dunn isn’t a bad PG to put next to Harden, and ET+Turner would be rotational players in Houston and then they are off the books. They could lottery/Top 8 protect the pick.

CHI Gets: Evan Turner, Maurice Harkless, #25, 2020 POR 1st, $5M Cash
MIA Gets: Skal Labissiere, #38, 2020 POR 2nd
POR Gets: Otto Porter Jr, Kelly Olynyk

Portland resigns Rodney Hood to 2 year contract (2nd year player option) starting at $5.5M (tax-payer MLE)
Portland resigns Al-Farouq Aminu for 1 year, $8M
Portland resigns Jake Layman for 2 years, $10M

Lillard (36) / Simons (12)
McCollum (36) / Simons (6) / Hood (6)
Porter (30) / Hood (18)
Aminu (24) / Collins (21) / Porter (3)
Olynyk (25) / Leonard (20) / Collins (3)

Lillard (36) / Simons (12)
McCollum (35) / Hood (8) / Simons (5)

If Olshey can get Houston to buy that, I'm all for it!

I love it, Miami doesn’t though. Also can we trade 2020 if we trade 25?

A PG that needs the ball and can't shoot isn't bad next to Harden? There's no way Houston does that. Also, Houston is just going to take Otto Porter Jr. over Turner, Dunn, and Harkless.

How will they get Porter without adding at least another pick? Portland has 25, Houston has nothing of value till 2021 on their own.

Miami had the highest tax bill for a non-playoff team in NBA history last year. They have a ton of big men. If they can save $10M next year and get a young big with talent and a high 2nd round pick to replace Olynyk, I think they'd do it.

And we'd have to draft first before making the trade. You can't trade future firsts two years in a row. After you make the pick, it's no longer a "future first".

Houston sends their 2020 and 2022 1st, and doesnt ask for Dunn.

I think Whiteside is the big more likely to be dealt. Olynyk fits with Bam well.

Whiteside could get dealt too, but he doesn't have any value and any suitors and Miami would probably want assets back that other teams aren't looking to give up. If they can save $10M by jumping into another trade like that and get talent back for Olynyk, it's certainly reasonable. Skal would fit well with Bam too, and he's cheap and young.

I could see Atlanta trading for Whiteside, use one of their first round picks+Plumlee+Spellman.

It is legal if we wait until after the draft and trade the player, rather than trading the pick. Silly distinction, but there you go.

Oops. Got beat by a younger poster. This is no place for old men! :devilwink:
