Why the hell would they do that? Haha..I could see Atlanta trading for Whiteside, use one of their first round picks+Plumlee+Spellman.

Atlanta or Miami? Why the hell would they do that? Haha..
Good luck. Maybe for John Wall?
The thing is...
Similar to DeRozan but Wiggins shot can be improved, his jumper is smooth at least.
Well, our floor spacing is certainly better, more open for him to do what he does best too, slash. He's already been in the NBA 5 years. Hoping he can start knocking down shots at $30 million per year is a major risk.
Atlanta... makes 0 sense for them. Theyre not trying to win. Hed probably be a rental.Atlanta or Miami?
Atlanta: Get a defensive anchor.
Miami: Cut Salary, gain two young prospects and an expiring contract.
Smooth, yet still broke.Similar to DeRozan but Wiggins shot can be improved, his jumper is smooth at least.
Atlanta isn’t that far off from being a playoff team in the east IMHO. And they have two top 10 picks+17. They could afford to shed 17 for Whiteside. Collins/Whiteside would be a hell of a rebounding frontcourt and Whiteside could anchor the D.Atlanta... makes 0 sense for them. Theyre not trying to win. Hed probably be a rental.
They just used 18M of cap space and their starting SF to acquire picks.Atlanta isn’t that far off from being a playoff team in the east IMHO. And they have two top 10 picks+17. With the way the east is shaping up and the progression of Young, Collins, Huerter, and adding some good young pieces with the top 10 picks... adding Whiteside, they could make the playoffs over teams like the Magic or Pistons. They just used 18M of cap space and their starting SF to acquire picks.
Theyre not going to turn around and trade for an aging rental whos overrated just to miss the playoffs by a lesser amount of games.
Lets not act like Whiteside is great. He's not. Average C at best. They could sign a C thats just as good without giving up assets... Why wouldnt they just do that? With the way the east is shaping up and the progression of Young, Collins, Huerter, and adding some good young pieces with the top 10 picks... adding Whiteside, they could make the playoffs over teams like the Magic or Pistons.
Also, let’s not act like Prince is some great starter either, he’s a bench player on a playoff team.

Whiteside can be dominant defensively, and a beast on the boards. The Hawks need a defensive minded player, there isn’t really any center they could get with his credentials in FA or the draft.Lets not act like Whiteside is great. He's not. Average C at best. Jaxson Hayes could be that and is projected by a few places to go to Atlanta at 10.Whiteside can be dominant defensively, and a beast on the boards. The Hawks need a defensive minded player, there isn’t really any center they could get with his credentials in FA or the draft.
Not a very good rebounder. Also, they still could draft Hayes too. It’s not like it’s illegal to have more than 1 big man lolJaxson Hayes could be that and is projected by a few places to go to Atlanta at 10.
Hayes just turned 19 and would be under team control for at least 5 years. Whiteside is paid $27 million and is 30 years old.
He's barely played basketball as a big man as he just had a huge growth spurt a few years ago.Not a very good rebounder. Also, they still could draft Hayes too. It’s not like it’s illegal to have more than 1 big man lol
You think thats combatitve?!It’s hilarious how combative you are with trade ideas that aren’t yours. Like every single one.
Dont be too combative! Scalma is watchingHe's barely played basketball as a big man as he just had a huge growth spurt a few years ago.
If I was Atlanta I'd target a younger big in a trade for a center like a Mitchell Robinson type.

Exactly.Dedmon is better than Whiteside and can spread the floor efectively as well so they can just keep him.
You think thats combatitve?!
- Whiteside isnt great, hes average
- They could sign someone just as good, why wouldnt they do that?
You think thats combative? Jesus Christ. This forum has so many people that overblow simple things to cause drama. So many people that insert themselves into conversations that dont involve them just to try to make them personal when they werent in the first place. People that act combatitive and complain about others acting combative when they werent.
Its crazy how combatitive you are with me while I regularly ignore you. You complaining about combatitiveness is comical. Sit down and have a nice day.

Please don't take this as a shot at you, but I'm not sure why people want Otto Porter Jr. He's pretty good at the things he does, but that contract is crazy...

Fair, but it seems like he'd become a whipping boy pretty fast when he's putting up a PER of 15 on that contract.I deleted cuz it was probably too much in our favor.
As for ottos contract, I wouldn’t mind it. He’s overpaid but it’s not like we’re going to get anyone better considering what we have to trade.
