Trade doesn’t work but I don’t think your getting anything good from Charlotte unless your taking back Gordon Hayward?
Trade does work, sorry I can't even seem to post the link to it. We get back four good players and get rid of a headache and a poor defensive player.

I figured out how to get a screenshot into my screen shot folder but can't figure how to get that transferred to here.

I think Charlotte loves this deal if they like Nurk. They get rid of Rozier's contract and replace with someone 5 years younger. They only give up three expiring contracts.
Probably try to get another asset from Charlotte. a pick?

With the rumor that Phoenix is interested in trading for CP3's successor and seeing names like Quickley and FVV. I would think a guy they would like next to Brooks for the foreseeable future would be Ant. When you couple that with the fact that they weren't seemingly excited about giving a true C the max and that if they got Ant, Cam Payne would be pushed out of the rotation... I think a trade of Ant and Nurk for Ayton and Cam Payne would make sense. I think they might want some draft capitol so I'd be willing to give them up to our 2029 FRP lotto protected but would rather give them a few seconds.

If we did that trade we could then look to trade Josh for a backup big... I know Miami is the team rumored to be most interested in Josh so they would have to send enough to a team like Orlando for a guy like Bamba, for us to give them Josh because they really don't have anything we would want for Josh.

I think since we're trying to go all in right now but also have a pretty young team around Dame and Jerami, it might make sense to take a big swing at a guy on a rookie contract. I think Houston has a bit of a minutes crunch at forward right now so they might be willing to give up Eason for two future firsts and Justise. The two firsts would be 2025 without protection and 2027 top 10 protected and if it fell in the top ten then the Rockets would get our 2027 second and the Pelicans'.

Overhauled new rotation Dame, Shae, Eason, Jerami, Ayton, GP2, Payne, Bamba, Nas and Drew. We'd be really deep with end of bench developing young guys like Jabari, Keon, Trendon and even GB3.

No go...

1) Suns are not going to give up Cam
2) I have no desire for Ayton to be anywhere near Portland
3) Houston will not give up Eason that easily

I don't see why the Suns wouldn't give up Cam, it might take that 2029 FRP to make it work but if they have CP3, Booker and Ant as their rotation with guys like Lee, Shamet and Washington on that roster, they would probably need to give up Cam. As far as Ayton goes, that's your take. You may be right about Eason but they have so much young talent on that team that they don't have time to play them all and continuing to stock up on picks might make sense but you're right that it might not. I think if it's not Eason then you take the best you can get for Hart and picks that you have and go for the best forward possible.

This was just an idea. I think we should for sure be talking to Toronto and doing everything we can to make Ant, Nurk and future FRPs (as many as it takes of the three we could make available) into Siakam. I think we need to do that now because it lets Toronto know that they need to get the best move for FVV together in order to make room for Ant. Then we get a starting level C for Josh (will likely need to be a three team) nothing too special just mobile and big, then hopefully a backup big 4-5 for Justise and future seconds and/or a first if there's one left over after getting Siakam.

The player that Charlotte really wants to trade is Gordon Hayward. if you’re not willing to take Hayward back in the trade, it’s almost not worth it to discuss trading with the hornets.

OK, maybe I already tried this one. three way with Charlotte and Orlando. Gets rid of Nurk and his salary. Gets a young forward with defensive chops. Gets another small guard but one with better D than Simons and willing to come off the bench. Gets Mo Bamba. I only do this deal if we cannot get Siakam.
Simons, Nurk and Brown to Charlotte

Rozier, Plumlee and Jalen McDaniels to Portland

Oubre to Orlando and Bamba to Portland
That's another nice thing about this trade. Not only do I think it helps us right now but doesn't hurt our future. No draft picks going out. One 23 year old (Simons) going out but two 24 year olds (Mcdaniels, Bamba) coming in. We gain size and length.

Have you talked with their GM?

No it’s speculation but I don’t think there is a team that will just trade for Hayward alone. They’d have to attach young talent or picks. They’d probably much rather have up Hayward than Rozier at this point.

I think that's probably what they would like to do but more likely they'll wait a year until he is an expiring contract. I understand we are all just speculating. The trade I proposed would probably only happen if McDaniels told them he would not be signing with them in the summer and we have no idea what his intentionsa are.

Phoenix does need to get their next PG and Ant beside Booker is nice. And they've been trying to ship out Crowder ... and they paid up (but didn't want to) on Ayton.
Ayton + Cam Johnson + Jae Crowder = Ant + Nurkic + Hart. Just trying to come up with a "fair" trade for each.

Would you consider M Bridges for Ant straight across? They have Cam ready to play starting SF.
Salaries work. They need a PG & We need a legit 3.

Ant for Bridges would be a steal for Portland imho. Though I dont know his age and deal etc
He's 26, will be 27 for the start of next season. He just signed a 4 year, 90 million dollar extension

The more I watch I think Ayton would be the perfect kind of Center for this Blazers team. Nurk/Hart for Ayton works but I’m guessing the Suns laugh at that.

I’m not saying I really like Ayton just that an athletic big who can rim run and rebound might be nice.

phoenix would never do this
You're probably right. Was thinking they may look at post CP3 and their salary. Not sure they will be able to afford Cam Johnson & Bridges.
Bridges is the better defender by a mile than Simons but Ant may have the better offense and fit next to Booker.
Bridges stats are not all that super all star great either.

Simons, Nurkic and Winslow for Ayton and Crowder?

Phoenix would be foolish to trade Bridges.....for almost anyone.
I'll take Cam Johnson then. 6'9" wing that would fit with Grant. Going to be an URFA. Not sure Suns want to afford both Bridges and Johnson at the same position?

Is this article accurate? A negative wing span of 6'7"?

He is a solid defender for sure but if length is the goal I would not give up too much for him.

"The case for Cameron Johnson
Johnson stands two inches taller than Bridges at six-foot-eight, but he wields a smaller wingspan at six-foot-seven. However, he remains a standout defender all the same."

I wouldn't take Johnson without it being a sign-and-trade. Why trade for someone who could walk away at the end of the season? That is essentially giving up assets for potentially nothing.

correction: Cam will be RFA (yeah, first name basis)

I see two places that have him at 6'10" wingspan.

Can't be a S&T right now. Johnson will be a RFA coming off his rookie contract.

speaking of Cam Johnson's free agent status, it's beginning to look like this off-season could have an interesting unrestricted free agent class

Russell Westbrook
Kyrie Irving
Kevin Love
D'Angelo Russell
Nikola Vucevic
Harrison Barnes
Jerami Grant
Myles Turner
Caris LeVert
Will Barton
Christian Wood
Terrence Ross
Brook Lopez
Patrick Beverley
Kelly Oubre Jr.
Josh Richardson
Dillon Brooks
Dwight Powell
Reggie Jackson
Danny Green
Jae Crowder
Jakob Poeltl
Mason Plumlee
Seth Curry
Lonnie Walker IV
Cory Joseph
Torrey Craig
Justise Winslow
Boban Marjanovic
Georges Niang
Robin Lopez
Goran Dragic
Markieff Morris

and that doesn't include guys like Josh Hart who have contract options. I haven't looked closely at how much actual cap-space will be out there next summer; kind of pointless till after the trade deadline. But a quick glance says there won't be much, and most of that will be in the less popular small markets
