That's the point. They want to trade Lopez FOR a pick. They gave all their picks away to Boston.
 
Hope CJ isn't involved.

I can't see Brooklyn giving Lopez away for nothing.

Fwiw - their pick is unprotected this year and will go to Boston.

Neil wouldn't trade CJ.

Kaman and our first rounder is fair. Then we can stop with all the tanking talk.
 
As long as he's not too expensive picks wise, I think this trade would be good.

We need a bigger body to man the middle. Plums is good, but he's very slightly undersized against true sized centers.
Same with Ed Davis, and, unfortunately, Leonard plays much smaller than he is.

B Lopez is only 27, so only a few years older than Dame. He'd bring much needed size and scoring in the frontcourt -
As long as he stays healthy that is!
 
We can't trade our first this year, we owe it to Denver. Can't trade consecutive years either. Earliest first we could convey is 2018.

Lopez for a 2018 first. Yeah, I don't see why the Nets do this?
 
Problem with this is Lopez cannot be traded until December 14th and Denver has our #1 unless it is a lottery pick.

That would help them. Their 2018 pick goes to Boston.
 
I'd venture to guess Lopez can at least fetch a lotto pick. Portland's pick is not likely to be a lottery pick with Lillard, CJ and Lopez.

Leonard, one of Harkless or Aminu, and a pick would probably get it done talent-wise. I don't know if I do it, but that's why I'm not the one in charge.
 
Having lived through the Walton, Bowie and Oden eras, I would not take on a guy who has had three foot surgeries, and who appears to have just recently dodged another foot scare. Too damn risky to bet our future on. And anyway, he's not as good of a rebounder as his brother was for us....or as Plumlee is right now.

There are other centers I'd rather have, but if dame and Lopez are enough to attract top notch talent then I am all for it.
