I didn't say that son. I said he doesn't have a history of trolling. Maybe he actually heard something from somebody. Read thoroughly before you reply.........
Im not your son...
300 something posts isnt much history. I just feel like this guy wouldnt be the only person to know about this "rumor" of a trade (that couldnt even go through for another month). Theres no buzz anywhere. Cmon man, its common sense. But I guess since I havent trolled over my 1800 or so posts that I can make up a bogus rumor and have yall believe me.

HCP is from the streets.... son is just ebonics for friend or pal.

Just checked the trade machine, have to wait until Dec 15th but we can do a 3 team trade!

Kaman ===> Nets

Lopez ====> Cavs

Lebron ====> Blazers
We might have to send out more.

Maybe Hank the Dorf can explain himself.....

There are several elements about trade rumors that people can't seem to comprehend... let me lay this out for you clearly and concisely.

There are in fact people who do have contacts and do hear things. I personally know half a dozen different people who are in communication with a GM here or an agent there maybe a coach or 2 etc...etc..

People who hear things from a valid source that they have established via personal relationships don't have links to share or validate their claim.

People who hear things from a valid source will never disclose who they heard it from, that is the equivalent of a major tossing under the bus and can get people fired, remember that Blazers assistant coach this summer?

So if a person comes in and says they have info there are ways in which we should or shouldn't react.... let's start with the what not to do.

Don't demand a link... it doesn't exist.
Don't demand to know sources... they won't be disclosed.

What to do.

Discuss the merits of the "rumor".
Make the discussion be about the rumor not the person posting the rumor.

Now there are some exceptions. Obviously if the trade is exceptionally lopsided as presented some doubt should be in play. Also if the poster is routinely posting outlandish stuff... kind hard to dig it.

Mostly remember it's a public location forum, not a court of law.

Hearing Portland in serious talks with Brooklyn for Lopez. Kaman and picks involved on our end....not 100% sure if other pieces involved.

I don't know if this is not too much to replace Kaman with Lopez because we'd be bringing someone an all-star for someone who doesn't play which means less playing time for the other bigs BUT Brook Lopez may not be the better Lopez, maybe just the slightly better, but he is a very good center, a better scorer than his brother and his defense is underrated.

I wonder if we could work out a deal for Kaman/Leonard. They do it to get younger/healthier, we do it because some team is going to offer Leonard a Kanter-like stupid contract and we'll be forced to either let him go or match it (and force Vonleh/Alexander/Aminu to not play at their best position of PF).

You split P/T at center 50:50 between Plumlee and Lopez, Plumlee starting. You tell Lopez that the deal is in exchange for getting the fuck out of Brooklyn, he comes off the bench behind Plumlee. He's a massive injury waiting to happen, so maybe he's ok with that. He'd get to destroy second units running pick-and-rolls with CJ, and odds are he'd finish a lot of games because he can hit a free throw.

I like this idea a lot.

None of you remember @Hank The Dwarf ? He's an OG Blazer forum member from way back. Way before this place ever came to be.

No idea if what he's saying is even close to reality but it's nice to see him around.
Oh I remember the stumpy one, was shocked to see him posting, there was an article yesterday that their idiot GM was exploring trade opps for the team as a blow up seems likely - remember he's the guy that allowed us to get Lillardin the Wallace draft pic trade so I would not mind doin biz with him!

Scores 20 ppg on 54% shooting. Averages nearly 2 blocks per game. When I first read this, I thought nope, I'm happy with Plumlee. But Lopez is an All Star level scorer. He would be a needle mover on our team, I think.
Yep as long as he can stay healthy which has not been a good bet, then again the Blazers are not likely to be able to use the capspace for a needle moving FA acquisitions so we may have to take some risk , so a trade like this or some other could be likely - who else has the capspace before next summer? pretty much us as Philly has used a decent it

Absorbing salary is probably the biggest 'asset' we send over.

The expiring contract of Kaman is a given but IF this is true I think Meyers will likely be in the package - that or send Plumlee to a third team.

Wouldn't it be sending him back to his first team?

Just because he was around years ago means hes noble? Haha. Maybe he does.. But I dont believe it.

Dude... Have a little respect... Hank has been a respected poster on the board LONG before you...

Too bad the axiom of "if you're hearing about it, it's already dead" is almost always true.

Then again, Brook Lopez is so oft-injured I'm not sure I'd want to go down that road again anyway.

That's true - if it's from the media IMO.

If we were to get Lopez I would move Davis into the starting line up. Lopez is just a better version of Meyers.
Agreed. Ideally, it's Kaman + either Vonleh or Leonard for Lopez. We start Lopez/Davis, Plums comes off the bench along with whichever of Leonard/Vonleh we keep.

Then we deal for Paul George.

I'd keep Plumlee over Leonard. I just think some GM is going to over-pay Leonard because "He's 7-1, athletic and can shoot" And I think Plums is a better overall player.

And you purposely claim this?
You need to get out of your cozy urban nest more, FAMS. I grew up in inner SE Portland and continued to live there while starting a family. Thirty years ago I moved to the 'burbs in order to cut my work commute in half. I resented the f**k out of having to leave Portland and it took me years to get over it. Now I'm proud to live in the 'burbs. While Portland is still a nice enough city, it is nowhere near the town I grew up in. And trust me, I knew the city like the back of my hand, every nook and cranny. It's far more crowded, the traffic is terrible, it's dirtier and noisier, the police are out of control and it has some of the most stupid and incomprehensible rules, taxes and ideas ever thought up. Its filled with slackers who seem to believe the world not only owes them a living, but should also honor them for their slacker ways. It's turned into San Francisco north. About the only thing that sets Portland above its' surrounding suburbs is the quality of its restaurants. Big deal. So we drive in to eat, tolerate the bullshit and then go home to our nice, clean, newer (and safer) 'burbs. Wake up FAMS....except for food, everything we have in the 'burbs is WAY better than what Portland has, i.e.; schools, police, streets (you can't even argue this particular point), etc, etc, etc. Portland is a shining myth that disappears into a frustrating reality once you enter the city limits. I'm very proud to call myself a Portland native, but even prouder to call myself a resident of my current suburban home town. Do your homework, learn the subject and then post, FAMS.....

they would like a stretch 4 and probably would like to take Meyers which I would be fine with, but I think they'd want a good bit more value than just salary relief, they have some significant contracts going away this coming summer and they won't be a FA attraction given how bad they are
