Trade Idea Trade Wishlist

The only elite players who would be traded are ones who are not wanted by their team, or on a team that wants to tear down and rebuild. Or a player who's part of a glut on the team. Or to get under the LT.

Three guys who come to mind are Love (not wanted?), Blake Griffin (rumored on the block), and Okafor.

I'd go for Okafor. I think our weakest position is PF or C.

It sucks because I would love to keep Crabbe, but he's making too much money to be a backup. It would be absurd to keep him at that price. So either we trade CJ and start Crabbe, or we trade Crabbe for a player at a position of need.

I still don't see the Bulls doing it. There are rumors of a Taj for Gay deal, which is much better for them if they actually want Rudy Gay. And they have Rondo and Wade at guard and Jimmy Butler at SF. They also spent a lot of "political capital" on McDermott, he'll be their backup SF.
Butler would be their backup SG and Gay can play 3 or 4.

Rondo (34) / Grant? (14)
Wade (33) / Butler (15)
Butler (20) / Gay (18) / McDermott (10)
Portis (18) / Gibson (20) / Gay (10)
Lopez (22) / Plumlee (22) / Gibson (4)

The minutes work well, and they have a lot more depth and balance.

There's no way the Kings would trade Gay for Gibson.

Okafor is a bad fit for this team.

Keep this in mind.

Our assets:

The Untouchables
Damian Lillard
CJ McCollum

Restricted till December/January
Allen Crabbe
Evan Turner
Meyers Leonard
Festus Ezeli
Moe Harkless

Available now
Al-Farouq Aminu
Ed Davis
Mason Plumlee
Noah Vonleh
Shabazz Napier
Luis Montero
Pat Connaughton
Jake Layman
Tim Quarterman

Man other GMs would get less then halfway down that available now list and lose interest

What's with those of you who want Kevin Love, he doesn't want to play for his home town, so why trade for him?

Because it's a team in the NBA in the year 2016?
Because we need a big man that can defend and play off of our guards, not a C that always needs the ball so he can do his pretty little in-and-out spin move.

The only assets we could trade now are Plumlee, Davis and Aminu. Players we have re-signed can only be traded at the end of year and trading CJ would weaken the team way too much. Out of those three players I can only see Plumlee traded before the season starts, if we get a good offer. It'll have to be a team who will want to resign him at a big contract next Summer too. Davis and Aminu are our only options at 4.

If we wait until late December then there will be some nice packages we could make. Crabbe + Harkless/Aminu + Leonard would not quite land us Cousins under normal circumstances but it would still be a good offer. The issue is there aren't that many players I would see here that could improve the team significantly and would also be available. We'd mostly be looking for PF and Millsap would be perfection but he's likely off the market.

Would you guys do Leonard, Harkless, Vonleh and 3 Future 1sts for Cousins?

Would they consider it?

I think Blake is the likely target, and the most likely to be moved by his team. Comes with the big risk of him walking after the season. But I think clippers prefer their team without him, and are more apt to go for above average role players to fill in (aminu, Davis, plumlee, harkless, etc. )

I honestly can't see us making a lopsided trade unless it includes with CJ. The problem is we have a lot rotation playears but at high contracts. So do a lot of teams. A situation like Griffin might be ideal because he's at odds with the organization. But I'd still think they'd want a player of high value.

If cleveland would have lost, i think they would have been open to dealing love. No chance now that they won the finals. Maybe next year

According to some in here they'd also think about dealing Kyrie as well...

If Utah is below .500 at the deadline, they may be open to trading Hayward. They have Burks who is a starting caliber SG and Rodney Hood who's shown big time flashes and would be their everyday SF. Two Future 1sts along with Leonard and someone else (Vonleh/Plumlee?) might be able to get the job done. Might have to give up a little more

Lillard / Turner
McCollum / Crabbe
Hayward / Harkless
Aminu / Davis
Ezeli / Plumlee or Vonleh

Hayward is a nice player but he's not what we need. We need a two way big.

Well it's very probe we won't be able to land one so Hayward would be the next best thing.

I like Hayward but I don't think he is needed. He's a small forward and we just got Turner at $17M a year. Besides it'd be a one year rental only as he has a player option which he will definitely not take next year.

Since he's exciting he's attainable. I think you could convince him to stay.

Hayward is better than Turner and Parsons. Imagine if you could get him and bring Turner and Crabbe off the bench. That'd be so deadly

Would we have money to keep him? Unless you're trading Crabbe and Leonard for him to free up some cap space, we won't be resigning Hayward.

Likely Leonard & Harkless so it'd be about even.

My worry with Blake is his injury history more than him potentially bolting. With Dame and CJ locked down, and his history with Neil, I don't see him wanting to go anywhere else -- even with overtures from his hometown OKC to join Russ.

But he is intriguing. A healthy Blake is a borderline top 5 talent, even with his shitty post game. God that geometry on offense gives me chills with Dame penetrating and shooting from outside, CJ owning the midrange, and Blake facing up and finishing in the P&R.

Do it, Neil! Outside of adding Boogie or KAT, a healthy Blake would be the next best chance for us to actually have a chance against GSW in the next 3 years.
