Someone correct me if wrong, but Dallas is a 2nd apron team, so they cannot aggregate players in a trade..... after July 1.

So they have clear incentive to get a deal done while the season is still in the previous calendar year.

Hardaway + Kleber + Prosper for Grant works. Now get as many picks from them as possible
Forgot the ruling on it being July. They can only trade their '25 pick. But has to be after selection this year is made because '24 went to NY,

If this true it's probably going to be Thybulle for next year's pick. Mavs probably want to give us seconds.

If they want Grant...

Grant, Duop, and Thybulle for Hardaway, Gafford, and their 2025 1st.

I'd probably rather trade Grant to a team that gives us a 1st this year.

Keep in mind, they can’t trade for Thybulle until one year from when he signed that RFA deal. So that’s sometime in July.

If you use the trade machine on fanspo says they cannot trade '25 1st round pick accept on the night of the draft -- info that it says : Consecutive draft years 2024 & 2025 would be missing a 1st round pick and that is against the NBA rules

The Mavs have almost nothing for draft picks so the options are super limited

Can they re-sign Jones? He will want more than the 2.7 he got last year. If they can they will not want or need Thybulle

I can see Dallas being interested in Thybulle, Grant, and Brogdon. All perfect fits for what they need and holes in their lineup that were exposed in the finals. They can give us 2 firsts after 2024 draft night.

Dallas owes their '24 pick to NY. They owe their '27 pick to Charlotte. OKC can swap in '28. They owe a '29 to Brooklyn. And a '30 swap to SA. They can trade their '25 pick. That's basically it.

they can also trade their 2031 first.

Fresh -- Could be wrong but i think Mavs can only trade the 31' pick when the new league year starts in July

correct, but that’s like a week after the draft, trade can be agreed upon in principle and executed in the new league year.

I'm not sure if 2031 pick can be traded immediately after the draft? Or do we have to wait until July 1st?

Could be important if Mavs are a second apron team in July. Thus only able to aggregate Grants salary in June?

After the draft, the '31 pick also becomes tradeable. So they have potentially 2 picks to trade

I wonder if Houston would consider trading Jabari Smith and what it would take?

Blazers need to start thinking boldly and take some calculated chances IF this team is going to pull itself out of the gutter and to be blunt not sure if Cronin has it in him. I hope he proves me wrong cause IF I am right we as fans are in for 3 to 5 plus years of hoping for a top 3 pick and while that can be fun it can get old fast.

Go all in with the vets to get Sarr. Gotta slash salary and free the ball up for Shae and Scoot anyways, might as well get an extremely agile 7-1 prospect for it.

quick recap of Blazers Edge off-season trade ideas:

1) Brogdan is worth a young and established All-Defensive stud and 3 FRP's.

2) Robert Williams can be traded for a 2025 high lottery pick. Wizards, Hornets, Pistons must pay big for Timelord.

3) Jerami Grant can be had for 4 FRP's, 2 young starters with All-Star potential + pick swaps

4) Simons has grown into a 6'10" monster. He's basically untouchable, unless it's something better then a Rudy Gobert type haul. 10 FRP's + 2 talented Centers

5) Cronin should have won GM of the year

6) Billups should have won Coach of the Year.

7) if we see you saying anything negative after a tough Blazers loss, we will suspend you from the comments section.

8) the Moda Center is packed to the ceiling during every home game.

9) Jody Allen is moments away from owning a championship roster.

10) none of our writers watch Blazer basketball, but our 2K Blazer team is ripping up the online gaming leagues.

Grant can get 3 FRP, Simons 2, Brogdon 1 and Thybulle 1. So yeah we can trade them all for 7 FRP.

LMAO yeah right... I wish
I wasn't kidding with my outlandish post. Sometimes I do joke around, but after browsing some B.E. articles and fan comments... they live in alternate dimension NBA on that website.
