Chad Ford and various other sport talk guys are talking about why Cleveland should trade LeBron and get something for him or lose him for nothing.

My question is, why would any team give up a chunk of their franchise for a guy who will likely bolt them as well?

Remember the the idea last year from ESPN? Roy/Aldridge/Oden for James/filler. Come the summer we'd be back to square one again.

A team over the cap would trade for him, but they'd get his assurance that he'd sign an extension first.

Man... I would do just about anything to pair up Oden and LeBron. It would mean the beginning of the biggest dynasty in the history of man. Forget 11 championships, I 'm thinking like 20. ;)

I hate the poison pill thing... I can never figure out how to trade someone with a PPP.

Realistically, Cleveland isn't going to trade him. They will go down with the ship, hoping he stays the whole way down. Now, if LeBron came out and said "I'm out of this mug, peace!" then I would see it as a possibility. Which is why it's really kind of lame that he isn't saying what he wants to do. He probably doesn't know, but he's gonna leave the Cavs in the lurch if he leaves. Not a very nice way to reward your hometown team.
