Trading our pick at #6

Anthony Davis, Siakam, OG Anunoby, Simmons, LeBron, KAT, Sabonis, Miles Bridges, Butler

Those are the players I'd trade the pick for and ranked in that order. However I don't expect any of them will be available so then I'd take BPA.

I have two fears. 1 we trade the picks for a veteran not listed above that won't make us a contender. Or 2 we trade for multiple pieces/picks and give up the best asset in the trade eventually losing the trade. We need new ownership ASAP.

What about the rumored influence of Damian Lillard to get Jerami Grant?
Grant will be a free agent soon so it would be a horrible mistake to give up much for him.

Using that logic our most likely pick would be in the top 4 since you’re looking at 40% vs 30%…
ONE of the top FOUR-- yes, but since the probability for getting each pick is its own drawing and completely irrespective of the former or latter selections, when looking at ONE selection, our highest probability is for the #7 pick.

this forum specializes in pedantic banter. good lord.

It’s not a difficult formula

Trivia time

6-3
5-9
2-7
3-2
4-9

what do those numbers represent?

6-3 = 3
5-9 = 4
2-7 = 5
3-2 = 1
4-9 = -5

8

Idk if it’s been posted but this is what Fischer is reporting

Without that Pelicans pick, it's uncertain if the Blazers have enough draft capital that they're willing to part with to appease Detroit. Early indications are that the Blazers have no desire to sacrifice their own selection, currently slated as the No. 6 pick, in trade conversations for Grant.

I know he’s only talking about Grant but my guess is it would have to take a real needle mover (no not OG) for them to move that pick. Now if that pick falls to 8 or something maybe they’ll be more open to it. But at 6 they have a legit shot at landing a top talent like Sharpe or Duren, for example.

What Cronin should do is leak that he's interested in a player that everyone hates in the draft, and then we'll all be relieved when he trades the pick for Jerami Grant.

For some reason this reminds me of when John Nash basically let everyone know the Blazers were focused on Martell Webster or Gerald Green. The Blazers passed on the chance to draft Chris Paul for Martell. The Blazers draft Martell high in the lottery; while Green goes #18. So we basically immediately got value in the back half of the draft for the #3 pick. Sounds similar to the value of trading our lottery pick for Jerami Grant.

Crazy to think of now, that Martell is older than Christ Paul. Paul is still playing, it feels like Martell retired a decade ago. I just looked it up, it was 13 years ago Martell played his last game for us and 9 years since he started his last game for the Wizards.

his career ended when he was 29 (bad hip IIRC). Irony is after passing on CP3 and Deron Williams because they already had Telfaire, the Blazers spent the next 6 seasons semi-desperately looking for their PGOTF until they drafted Dame

that was at least the 2nd time they made that mistake. No to Jordan because they had Drexler....yikes!

Well... If the Blazers actually get the 6th pick and Holmgren is still on the board they probably should take him.
It'll be like that Costner movie "Draft Day". Cronin will be calling up Kevin Pritchard asking him what he knows about Holmgren and why he's dropping, then he'll panic and trade out of the pick.
