Notice TRAIL BLAZERS ASSIGN CLIFF ALEXANDER AND LUIS MONTERO TO D-LEAGUE’S SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS (1 Viewer)

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Saturday, our game starts at 7 pm sharp. I want to see everyone there, not wasting time at the Blazer game starting at 7:30. And on Sunday, we play at 6 pm. The Blazers drop the pretense at competing with us that day. Be there or be square.

On Saturday, after Golden State runs up a 50-point lead early in the 2nd quarter, you might want to switch to a real game.

You realize we play Golden State on Friday, right?

Regardless, love seeing us using the D-league. Santa Cruz has an actual decent crew to listen to games (if they at home), so hopefully they are! Will be good to watch them.

I think it will be good for them to get some game time action. I think it was also pretty important for them to be around the team as long as they were, picking up on plays, and getting teaching from the coaching staff. Now weer get to see what they learned.

The game is still days away and the jlprk commentary is already exploding forth in fantastic volumes. Jlprk is like a Spinal Tap amplifier. He goes to 11.
There's nothing like a jlprk hosted D league game! Let those young whippersnappers see how a real game thread is conducted!

I think jlprk felt like a d league player all year, just waiting for his chance, and now he finally got the call up to do his thing for real. There is a strange reverse happening. When a player is sent down, he gets sent up. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I was just testing you. To get an A, you should have read it:

Here's a token post:

'Warriors' is a dull name. I want those guys to go somewhere with an exiting name like 'Mad Ants' or 'Red Claws'. It should have been the Santa Cruz 'Pounded Abalone".

I'll be ready for the game thread. Can we get HCP to make it? This is obviously a huge event because it's being broadcast on Youtube according the the Abalone team site.

Just not sure why it took this long to get them on a D league team?

Well, it does make some sense since Santa Cruz is right there near GS... have them play a weekend set then they probably rejoin the team.

Well i guess that does make some sense. Nice!

It's kind of a hassle to get to though. A solid 2 hour drive. (Without traffic) They could just as easy fly to a lot of west coast cities
in the same time. I am not sure the location is the reason.

The oldest player on the team is Dan Nwaelele. I choose to pronounce it nwah-ell-ellie. I'm guessing he's either from Samoa or Somalia. Gotta be one of those two.

You're way off. It's noir-eh-lay-lay. He's French-Canadian/Hawaiian.

It's why they sent them yesterday, so they could get there today. ;)

This is probably it, but I'm wondering if it might also be to get them in game shape in case they are needed in the playoffs in case of injury.

Isn't Neil ON RECORD about how useless he thinks the DLeague is?

I hope they get significant playing time, because I know that can be a problem. Best of luck to the both of them.

Sounds familiar.

I agree sending an NBA trainee down to the D-League for a season would be next to worthless, compared to coaching, developing, and training that player first hand, and having them practice against real NBA players, and all that.

But I think there comes a time when you need to put all that training and teaching to a test over the course of one or more games, then bring them back to the team to work on lessons learned.

Jeff Ayres (i.e. ex-Pendergraph) just dunked and yelled "FUCK YES!" at the top of his lungs.

We're only down 2! This will be a glorious blowout once Montero and Alexander wake up.

Those purple and yellow uniforms. I just woke up and I'm having a nightmare. I'm seeing 5 Kobes running around. Montero is coming in! Alexander just fouled Vander Blue hard and fouled, extending his arm.
