Trail Blazers' center Festus Ezeli suffers setback in comeback

Right before his knee exploded, Oden was clumsy, often out of position, usually pretty damned winded, and he was still rebounding at a historic rate. And his presence on the floor was forcing opponents to make pretty drastic adjustments on both ends of the floor.

and if my aunt had a beard, she'd be my uncle. Festivus has already had a better career than Oden did.

Better career? Certainly. Better player? Not by a long shot.

better player also takes into account longevity and health. So, playing 105 games over 8 years means he wasn't a better player.

More TALENTED, yes. Better player? No.

Play is evaluated based on actually playing basketball. Greg barely played basketball.

Oden is clearly the guy with more talent. it just never made it to the court, but to say Festus is better is a joke. Sorry. :)

With that logic, Andre Miller was better than Broy... right?

Come on now....

I have no idea who this Oden person you guys keep talking about is.

you hve to take into account the whole, not the part.
Not when I'm specifically addressing the part.

EDIT: I'm starting to think my comments are sounding WAY snarkier than I intended, julius. Don't read any into it, okay?

And what about my analogy that keeps being passed up on?

With this logic Andre Miller is/was better than Broy.

This logic simply doesn't hold... He played more games, so he is better?

Because all that matters is #games played for any team :)
Travis Outlaw >> Brandon Roy :)

if Brandon had played 1 year, and Travis had played 7, then yes Travis had a better career and was a better player.

Drazen Petrovic was a guy who was just starting to dominate his position when he died young......I still think of him as one of the great shooting guards of his time
