With today’sannouncement, the Trail Blazers join the Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bullsas the first NBA teams to stream cable games. Last season the team alsostreamed 21 KGW games (including playoffs).

potentially great news for people like me. However I'm curious to the quality of the streaming that will be online. If its crappy, I'll just stick with the spotty free feeds lol.

70$ for 60 games. Not a bad deal tbh.

Then again, for those outside the area, LPBB is $110 and you can watch 5 teams.

Streaming quality was good last year. I assume it will be better this season.

also I wonder if the games will be archived the day of for those of us who wouldnt be able to access East Coast games at like 5 when they happen.

From blazers.com FAQ:
Will the games be archived so I can watch them on demand?

No. Unfortunately, the NBA has not yet approved teams to offer video on demand services.

Q for you tech geeks: How will they know where I live? (iow, that I live outside the 'area')

Q for Wheels and santeesioux: Can I borrow your zip code? (PM)

I def am eager to try this out. Thanks for the links BeerBoy!

Sounds like it's about time to bite the $10/month bullet and finally start using hidemyass.com's proxy service ... nah.

Seems to me that this would not work for streaming video since a direct connection needs to be open between client and server - but I am not 100% certain.

Do people who live in the boonies and cant get Comcast have access to a good enough internet connection to stream live video?

People? YOU live in the boonies son!
