Trail Blazers to end single-affiliate partnership with D-League's Idaho Stampede:

How was it single-affiliate when there were players from other teams on the roster?

I don't click on links from the oregonian.....anybody want to tell us the reasons?

They think it's a waste of money (since they never send players down) and they think their project players develop better practicing with the team and assistant coaches than playing D-league games.

Sounds like it was a basketball decision that also had to make sense financially.

"Snort!"

Well they never used it, sooo...

Exactly. How do they know it wouldn't help? Their current approach isn't all that great.

The NBA really needs to form a farm league/system like MLB has. Increase the draft to like 3 or 4 rounds (with the 3rd and 4th rounds being players for the D league teams).

I heard they were going to use another affiliate next season.

I never knew why it existed, other than to advertise the NBA in areas that have no NBA team.

Always makes more sense to be practicing with your own team over any other situation.

I guess when PA said, "I want my own private Idaho", the Stampede wasn't what he had in mind.
