Trail Blazers Vs. Clippers FINAL preseason game

I'm afraid of what this game will do to the blazers confidence. They were playing free and easy all pre-season, but they get this lead, got some push back and they got tense, everyone but Dame had this deer in the headlights kinda look. Total ass kicking of epic porportions after the 1st.
It's okay. We have a true leader who will get our guys back on track. We're a great team. Preseason results mean nothing,

I hate to say it but I agree. No one but Dame looks capable of performing in tense, clutch moments.

This is kind of what I am expecting for the regular season, a team that is dangerous and exciting but just is too young yet and doesn't have enough consistent scoring. When the Clippers started to come back, you need to get to the line, stunt the momentum, make a couple of free throws. We just jacked up 3s and wild shots.

Crabbe misses a couple, his confidence seems to disappear and his defense seems to get sloppy. Damian and CJ try to do too much. Vonleh isn't ready yet. Harkless is an enigma. Our two most proven bigs are garbage scorers, not low post threats. I just think that combination will making wins scarce THIS SEASON.

And I've said this before, I am fine with that. I think some guys will "get it" as the season goes on, hopefully we add a decent piece in next year's draft and maybe another through a trade or free agency. But I'm not buying 30 wins for this team ... with all the teams in the West capable of winning 50, they are going to be beating someone. If the Blazers do well, then I am pleasantly surprised. If they don't, unless there's some kind of meltdown and no one shows improvement, I will be happy to see them compete and learn and make progress and hopefully end up with a higher ceiling than the team of the past three years ran into.

FUCK THAT GAME!

How in the fucking hell do you blow a 35-point lead? I could give two shits whether or not it was a preseason game. I have never seen a Blazers team lose a lead that big and in such a hurry. This has to be some sort of record, right? Maybe if Coach Stotts would teach shot selection, we wouldn't jack up deep jumpers early in the shot clock.

Listen, I didn't expect to make the playoffs, but one should expect this team to hold onto a 35-point lead, right? Is that really too much to ask?

I'm glad we don't play until Wednesday night. I can't even think about Blazers basketball after that second half shit show.

Dame was great tonight but his 3 point shooting is still terrible. Also had 8 turnovers as well, needs to tone those down.

His finishes and speed is fantastic right now. Defense was suprising he really improved that

I might be being overly negative right now but I just do not have faith in Crabbe or Leonard to actually step up this season. I feel like they are both going to disappoint.

You're missing the good part which is that we got a 35 point lead. Our team is for real. Shit happens, this will just focus us for next Wednesday night.

Those obnoxious Clippers announcers were pegging Damian to lead the league in scoring this season

Dame looks faster this year.

But wtf happened to his 3pt shot? That step back 3 he patented his rookie year is in the gutter. Abs 0 confidence in his looks from deep.

Been that way since like march

Love how Dame (and CJ to a lesser extent) was able to finish with ease at the rim in the first half. Our ball movement was pretty stellar as well. And that was with the Clippers first string whiners in the game.

Pretty encouraging signs from our young group despite giving up the lead.

On the bright side, we're a lot closer to being in Simmons territory than I originally thought. It's going to be difficult winning on a consistent basis in the NBA without any low-post scoring options. The games we win will be the ones where the jump shot finding nothing but net.

No player can create their own shot outside Damian and CJ.

That was a huge factor in their comeback.

Yea I been saying that for months. It's ugly. It's a damn shame too Bc every part of his game is clicking and improving as well. I'm afraid he'll never be around that 38-41% mark he had his first 2 years. Maybe around 32-34% unfortunately

Stotts tried several pass plays for Davis and one for Plumlee, but both missed the little chuckers. I hope practice will make perfect as the season wears on. Vonleh has the weight to learn how to post up, Zach-style.

We will be fine when Dame and CJ are playing well, but not so good when they don't. Clippers have one of the deepest teams in the league. We do not. right now. Getting Aminu and Henderson back will help.

I doubt that Connaughton will play much during the regular season, but I have to admit he is getting better every game. He actually looks like he belongs now. Eventually he will be a nice hustle player off the bench.

Sometimes it seem that Dame try to win this game but he need to trust his team mates. They built 10 point lead in the 4th by other guys got involve.
